Answer to one is obviously no. Therefore, I do not believe two is in the realm of possibility. They are non-sequiturs. Obviously, I am playing with semantics, here, but what I want and what I think is possible are two different entities. I see Will as emblematic of a larger problem in sports, in general. It is toleration of mediocrity because of what is familiar. Really, this situation is not unlike that of Joe Barry, for Packer fans, here. He is not capable of turning the defense around, even though I'd love him to. I also think that the will to will Will to succeed, despite the obvious problems, could also be harmful in the long-run. Say we win 12 games next year, then 14 the year after, and then plateau at maybe 16 wins, then we have wasted those years. Ultimately, as a fan of almost 25 years, watching this backslide is hard to stomach, so yes, I obviously want someone to turn this ship around. However, I have seen enough to know Will is not the answer long term, even if we string together a few wins this year and next. Cheerleading or critiquing him on here is not going to make a difference either way to what Josh Moon decides to do with him. This is a fancy way to avoid answering question #2. I will ask again, do you want him to succeed? Getting back to 16 wins and plateauing does get the team back to Linc level. His regular season win totals the last 3 years were 12, 17 & 16. I know you were good with that so what changed? The very key difference is that for Linc, the answer to question one was yes. He had proven to be a winner, and I believe that we could’ve reached the tourney again with him. Would I be in favor of another tourney appearance with Will? Sure, but it’s not going to happen. Do I WANT him to succeed? Sure, but that depends on your definition of success, which probably looks different to everyone. My definition of success is being a perennial threat to win the HL tournament, regular season record be damned. We went 24-5 (or around there) that one year with Wardle, but couldn’t find the last puzzle piece (or coach it into existence). Will is just Wardle but worse at recruiting and somehow even worse at coaching. Q1: No Q2: obviously

One ncca tournament appearance and cit and cbi appearance make you a winner. Linc Darner did not want to be in Green Bay. Coach Ryan does want to be in Green Bay. I was coach darners manager for four years. I can’t understand why people like want coach darner back it’s not going happen. Or wish coach darner was still the coach.

I am not sure anyone wants Darner back. However, i think a lot of people, myself included, believe that if Linc never got fired the program would be winning more games than they are currently under Will.

Also, from everything I have heard (take it or leave it), it was not that Darner "did not want to be in Green Bay" on his own volition, more like he was purposely made to feel uncomfortable by the administration etc., which probably had an impact on his level of engagement and enthusiasm.

I have zero doubt that the team would be at the same level Coach Darner had them at if the change was never made.
Coach Darner didn't move his family to GB until his last year in GB. That doesn't exactly signal I'm putting down roots. He apparently interviewed for the Pitt job after he made the tournament (hoop dirt I believe reported that). So I can see the he didn't want to be here angle.
In fairness to him I would also say I heard similar things as yay did about not having a work environment that made him feel like he should stay.
Either way he isn't coming back.

I don't understand - he wasn't here for a relatively long period of time. Who made him uncomfortable? Guthrie?

Any coach that has success in Green Bay will have other teams expressing interest. Ryan may want to be in Green Bay at this point in his career, but you can't convince me he would turn down a move to a larger conference with a significant raise. At this point I don't think we have to worry about losing him to another team.
