I’ll admit, I haven’t been the most positive this season but DAMN after a win this board should be packed with comments about how great of a win that was.
-Down at half and won the game - Beat a team who defeated ISU -Finally worked the post and it was successful -Made the adjustments FINALLY.
Let’s celebrate this win and hope we can build on it by going to St. Thomas and stealing one on the road.
Go Phoenix

It wasn't the prettiest first 35 minutes of basketball. However in the last 5ish minutes GB's offense did a really good job of making every play they needed to make to put the game away. A game that came down to making ft's was won by making every free throw.
I have to give Nate a lot of credit. This roster has guys that would have handled the same situation a lot worse than he did. He came in and had active hands on defense and was steady from the line late in the game. It was a good use of his ability and hopefully the next step is him banging down open J's like he did last year.
I've been on the Zae train but it is fair to say he needs to figure out a way to be a higher level defensive player. He wasn't starting because of this IMO and the last 2 games have highlighted some short comings on that end. He isn't big so finding a way to use his quickness on defense will really round out his game.
When Brock does Brock things he makes this team so fun to watch. He and Cade really showed why they have been getting the front court minutes. They were awesome on offense. The next step is wiping up the defensive glass.
That was fun and shows there still is hope for this season to have some highlights. They are getting better despite the circumstances and illness bug.
I have no clue how to watch the game on Tuesday but a road win and a winning streak are the next steps now that the non conference D1 losing streak is over!!

I went to the game with my 13-year-old son and we thouroughly enjoyed it. The energy that Heffner brought was huge, both with defensive effort and offensive aggressiveness. Kansas City looked much stronger and more physical, and it showed on the boards, but GB was still able to run the offense through Cade and Brock against them. Tucker's numbers didn't look great, but he looks much more confident shooting the three. If he can develop any consistency there, it would be a great combination with the inside game. It's nice to leave a game with a little hope. Just a little...but it's progress.

Great win last night and shorthanded to boot. No Garren, No Davin, No Rose.....no problem.
Love the energy from the bigs last night. 42 points, 13 rebounds, 5 blocks and 15/19 from the line from Cade and Brock alone. I'll take that all day everyday.
If my memory serves me correctly, GB didn't miss a FT in the second half and made more FT's then UMKC attempted last night. Thats Bo Ryan type stats there which is a great sign.
Feels like guys are starting to understand their roles and getting more comfortable with hiw they need to play to win games. Happy for the coaching staff, players and all of us.
Onto St Thomas and the start of a 7 game roadie. They play like this on the road and we're coming home with some more wins. #RiseWithUs

This isn't horseshoe's so close doesn't count but the point about Randy still stands. His shot does look more confident. He had two 3's pop out that were very close to going down last night.
I'm serious and don't believe I'm asking asking for much when I write having a reliable 33% or slightly better guy would do wonders for this team. We've seen enough to know it might be a facade but I'm optimistic that Randy can come on a little stronger from deep over the next 20 games.
He in my mind is the best late shot clock perimeter option. He has a solid array of pull up and side step jumpers that actually have a chance to go in or draw rim so GB can get a board and a reset.

I was at the game last night and it was a really great effort and great to come away with a W. I'm not gonna go as far as saying it was addition by subtraction, but in the end i think it really benefited GB that they were short handed and forced to tighten up the rotation. It also forced them to make adjustments (which has frustrated many of us that we haven't seen) and pound the ball inside. I don't think it's a coincidence they won and only attempted 11 3s. Cade and Brock played about as well as you can hope. They were both excellent. Cade flat out dominated and I left very impressed with Brock's effort and production on the defensive end. CC was also great defensively and I loved that he didn't force anything on the offensive end. He is a guy you need on the court even when he isn't scoring. And for all the struggles they have had at the FT line this year, as others have said they stepped up and knocked them down, which in the end is why they won.
Now I don't want to rain on this parade, but there are some things to point out. If I'm being honest, when I look at the box score I'm thinking "How the hell did GB win?" UMKC took 24 more shots(!!), grabbed 19 offensive rebounds and forced GB onto 17 turnovers, 5 more than UMKC committed themselves. This is not a recipe for success. GB has to hit the defensive glass harder and clean that up. I also goes without saying they have to be better with the ball and not have so many empty possessions.
All and all, it was a great effort though and a good team win. Hoping they can build on this, but the 7 game road trip is gonna be brutal. Gotta keep improving, keep their heads up and stay mentally strong, especially once they get back into conference play at the end of the month.

Looking at the majoruty of the box score does look a bit off, but we did end up shooting over 50% from inside the arc, made 25 FTs, only lost the rebound war by 8 total boards even with giving up 19 offensive rebounds and somehow had 7 blocks in the game when GB was undermanned and undersized was unexpected. My take leaving the building was our bigs outworked and were much more efficient then there bigs......and there were plenty of them........but Cade was an animal on the block on offense

They used to be on the UWGB website or thru the green bay press gazette online but I haven't found anything this year so far I don't think they've been posting them this year, probably because the Press Gazette doesn't really cover games anymore so there's not really anyone there to ask questions after the games. As mentioned above, they did post the one from after Saturday's game on YouTube but not on the official website:

Hey hey look at that, a post game interview from the coach and the star of the game!!!! I have to give proper credit to the athletic department for doing that, it is much appreciated from my perspective!
I did notice that some of our contributors who were active in the next coach thread or comment after losses are missing from the post game thread after the team won. Do we need to call the local authorities and do a wellness check since some of their joy was stolen by the GB win???

Do we need to call the local authorities and do a wellness check since some of their joy was stolen by the GB win??? I will put my hand up. I have been a little slow to get on here. Had a few too many alcoholic beverages this weekend. As far as the game goes, it was enjoyable to see the team face the adversity of getting down 9 and then battling back to control the game the whole second half. I thought the move by will ryan to play two bigs pretty much the whole game was a great move. We had a clear advantage down low and Cade Myer and Brock Heffner did a great job taking advantage of that. Was really pleased to see both of them cash in on their opportunities at the free throw line. My only critique would be that in both wins the team has looked real shaky with pressure while trying to close the game out. However, I will deal with that issue because it means we are winning late in the game. Let's hope we can have a repeat performance this week in Minnesota and gain some momentum heading into the main conference schedule.

See, I'm more interested in the whereabouts of a certain mod that only shows face when the team wins one of their few games to attempt to gloat. Reminder that only people that actually care enough to post on a niche message board for a team with a dwindling fanbase actually DO want the team to succeed, but some of us are realists and actually take perspective on the happenings in and around the games.
