I’m planning on signing up here in the next couple days. Hopefully we can get several people off the board to get in on the action as well. Let’s go support our squad while drinking cold beers on a beautiful course! I guess we’ll play golf as well! Hope to see you there!

A month ago GB posted a summary of the golf outing and by all accounts it was a very successful event. greenbayphoenix.com/news/2022/7/29/mens-basketball-enjoys-successful-swing-and-swish-golf-outing.aspxBy comparison UWM's outing is next Friday and they currently have 19 groups signed up and are hoping to maybe get into the low to mid 20's of foursomes. Detroit Mercy did sell out their event but it was for all of athletics, not just basketball. Also, their outing was done at a slightly lower price point. Even coming off of one of the three worst seasons in the D1 era it seems there are people around the community that do care deeply about the GB program and are willing to support it. While the summer isn't over yet, at some point we will shift into basketball season. The success of this golf event is a reminder that there is a solid base of interest and engagement we can all use as a springboard to help lift this program up to the levels we want it to be at.

I like that there are people on here who maybe know more about this then I do but I think more resources go into funding the girls basketball team they did win the horizon league regular season for 20 years straight before the pandemic a lot of people went to there games it makes sense?

I get the sense that women's basketball has a pretty loyal base of ticket holders and donors. Possibly more than the men do at this time.
I do not get the sense that the university has put more money towards the women's team than the men's basketball.
I do sense that the university has asked the men to make money playing certain games. Money that quite frankly isn't available in any other sport that GB sponsors.
Overall, GB has one of the lowest funded women's teams in the league and it should be no surprise some of the teams have caught up to them.

The money from the golf outings takes care of the travel and other expenses. The woman might have more money because they go to the NIT or the NCAA. I don't think he reason they win is because of money. The maine reason is because they have had 3 coaches in program history and the players are loyal to these coaches. The men are not that loyal. The woman had a lot of alums at the golf outing. How many alums showed up for the men?

The women's tournament does not have a revenue share like the men's tournament.
Every men's game is 2 million dollars paid over 6 years to the conference. Every women's game is zero, even for the championship games.
The women have a loyal group of people to help bridge the financial gap.

From Coach Ryan’s mouth- they had to turn people away this year. Maxed out at 40 foursomes due to not reserving the entire course.
In 2023 they are reserving the whole course. Let’s get that number to 60 plus foursomes!
