Has the coaching staff adequately replaced Davis, Pipes, Jefferson, and Thompson? Barring last minutes changes the roster spots have been claimed. Four experienced transfers should help. Can Tutu Majok provide enough inside muscle? Can any of the three high school players have an immediate impact?

I wouldn't expect the newcomers to replace the outgoing players, but I expect the team to be improved because of both the newcomers and improvement from the holdovers. I expect the defense and rebounding to improve. The offense seemed to really progress as last season progressed.
As for the HS additions, I think Meyer and Kamari are both uncommonly ready physically to make an impact immediately. Dailey is more of a question mark because of the time missed to injury.
I don't think TT is a loss at all. If you noticed I never commented when we were recruiting him, as I wasn't excited to pursue him. I saw a player who wasn't fundamental, and had a poor motor. Meyer is the opposite.
Majok averaged not just 10 boards a game, but did that in just 19 minutes a game. That's a rebounding machine, which addresses the teams biggest weakness a year ago.
Pipes was a really good player, and it's always tough to replace an experienced PG. That will be a challenge. Davis was an empty stats player, the team was actually better with him off the floor, despite inexperienced depth. Jefferson was erratic in every phase of the game.

Team chemistry alone may make this squad an improvement over 20-21. Pipes is a huge loss. Jefferson lacked consistency and seemed to have mood swings that impacted his ability to reach his full potential. Majok may be the missing piece on the boards. It should allow Kellogg to expand his role. I'm wondering if Kircimin can provide meaningful minutes to spell Majok. All and all, I agree with "Shooting the J's" assessment.

The question here was talent. Sheer talent-wise? 2020-21 is more talented, no question. Chemistry and system-fit wise? That’s a different story.

Which roster is better vs which roster has more talent are two very different questions. I voted 20-21 based on the second question and we all hope that by February 2022 we will answer 21-22 for the title of the post.

I agree with all of the comments.
I'm optimistic this will be a better team but I think the previous team had more talent on average. A lot of that is due to the talent at the top end of the roster being really good.
