Hey fansincebuss, you're forgiven :-).......
UWM must have offered him a lot more $$$ than what GB could counter with. UWM has one of the largest budgets in the HL, and at one time UWM had a top 25 soccer program......Maybe he felt that the ceiling was higher at UWM than UWGB.....
If nothing else, it will feed into the UWGB-UWM rivalry a bit more.....

If nothing else, it will feed into the UWGB-UWM rivalry a bit more..... Well there's not really another home for this kind of topic, so I'd say it's best put here. I don't know what the money was. I'm sure it was more. As I've said a lot lately over on our boards and our own fans keep forgetting, Milwaukee is getting $1.3 million boost next year in student fees, which will boost to about $2 million more than today in 2014-15 and beyond. It's supposed to help pay down the debt, but I'm sure it freed up other money to pursue other candidates. As we did in 2010, we had a very good candidate pool. Kelderman did a good job at Green Bay this year and has been a wonderful assistant for awhile, so he was definitely a great candidate. We had a top 25 program for most of the early 2000s, but Milwaukee's soccer history is very deep. It's one of the oldest programs in the country, it has the oldest in-season tournament in college soccer (The Panther Invitational), and you can never forget Engelmann Field. Where most of our facilities are laughable, Engelmann Stadium is a gem. The grandstand is against one of our oldest buildings on campus, it's tucked in between several buildings, the tailgating is fun and like a D-III football atmosphere, and the noise...oh the noise. It's been named one of the best stadiums in college soccer and it's a huge recruiting tool. What GB has for soccer is pretty ho-hum. Aldo Santaga Stadium is kind of like Milwaukee's baseball stadium, Hank Aaron Field - it doesn't measure up to the name. The good news for GB is that with the Kress Center built, a new soccer stadium should be the next big project on the docket (or close to it). Poitras started moving things the right way, Kelderman kept it going, but GB soccer could use the boost of a new stadium. I know I'd sure like to see a brand new Santaga Stadium.

I hear Chris Whalley is looking for a job. I couldn't care less about soccer, but Green Bay's AD has clearly established his ability to hire high integrity winners, and he'll do that again. Only a school ran by morons would hire a coach like Whalley

Only a school ran by morons would hire a coach like Whalley Today. He was a hell of a hire the first time around - came off a D-II national runner-up run, huge record. The kind of lower-level run that many successful D-I coaches have in sports before they make the jump. But man, could it have ended worse? I suppose the good thing is the man never lost a Cup match. Green Bay (Chancellor's), Marquette (Milwaukee), and NIU (LeWang) all reside in Milwaukee. I hope Kelderman can keep 'em there. I love going to Harry's Bar and Grill and seeing all three spots filled on the top shelf.

Wednesday night, October 3 will be when Milwaukee and Green Bay face off on the soccer field. The game is in GB this year. That'll be a pretty good game, one would think
