Amazing how much my excitement level for next season completely dropped in a weeks time. The only transfer the coaching staff wasn’t sure about was Amari. Otherwise this was all expected. I am excited for the future more now. Time to build that foundation. I still have have hope and excitement for the future. But “next season” and “future” are two different things. Thought we could compete for a conference title if the right players came back next season. Now I’ll be shocked if we finish in the top half. But considering how the conference tourney has gone in recent years, maybe finishing toward the bottom isn’t a bad thing.

While Pipes put himself in the transfer portal, I'd be surprised if he isn't playing pro overseas next year instead. He's ready.

If older teams win then GB has some work to do to get experienced players for the 2021-22 season.
Losing PJ is not necessarily surprising but it does put a lot more pressure on to find and develop players quickly.
PJ is one of my favorite players from over the years. A team player who could contribute nicely to the stat sheet too!
A big opportunity exists for Blayton, Donavan and any other guards that come to GB to make a huge impact.
Also, keeping space available for the class of 2022 high school class is an interesting balancing act for the coaching staff.

One of my favorite players to ever put on a Phoenix jersey. Sad to see him go.

Best of luck to PJ, nothing but positive thoughts and prayers for his future path.

Let’s have some fun. We have 4 scholarships to fill. What do you want to do with them? Grad Transfers, transfers, JUCO’s or High School?
Any one specific you would want if they come available? I’ll get you my answer in the near future.

There are at least two walk-ons that I would give a scholarship to. Find a transfer big or JUCO big. JUCO's may be overlooked this cycle because of the one-time college transfer rules.

Interesting idea, but that doesn’t really help out balancing out the classes. Something Coach Ryan said they needed to do on the radio show he did a few nights ago.

Folks I had to make my return following the season. First off, this is bogus that we are losing Amari especially. The rest Im not real concerned about. Josh was good but was a senior so without the weird rule this year hes gone anyways. Amari is the best player I have seen since Sykes. You can't replace him and anyone that says him leaving is okay is just lying. I'm not lying when I say analytics didn't like his game, and that he's become very overrated. He's not the best player since Sykes. Cohen, Pipes, and the SG from Wardles last recruiting class were all significantly more productive. Ansong was better over the last dozen games. I know analytics will hurt his game since he shoots too many mid range jumpers for analytics. However, I don't think pipes is on Amaris level. That is a stretch. Pipes plays much better defense but Amari was developing on defense and was much better this year under a coach who actually cared about defense. With the development of his three point jumper the potential was high. Sandy was great but we also got him as a senior. Amari is only a sophomore and as long as he continues to develop, who know what he could be as a senior.

Wouldn’t it be fun to see Ben Vander Plas finish his career up at GB? Currently at Ohio, would fill the need of a big man.
He’s not even in the portal and who knows if that’s even an option for him but just saying it would be cool!
One of the biggest swings and misses for Coach Darner IMO
