Tip is at 4pm on ESPN3.
The same effort and then some will be needed today.
PFW made a lot of unforced mistakes in addition to the mistakes GB forced. Also, PFW was ice cold from deep. GB can't rely on PFW to beat themselves again.
It would be great to see all the forwards contribute again today. It takes such a load off of the guards.

Can’t expect to win with 18 turnovers today like yesterday.
Limit those and play great 3 point defense.
A sweep would be huge before heading to league leading Cleveland State next weekend.

I like the Phoenix in this matchup simply because PFW doesn't have that singular player that dominates inside. Without having to help there, the defense is sound.

PJ Pipes is my pick to click today. After playing limited minutes yesterday in a blowout, I'll bet he goes off today. It might not be obvious how improved he is this year because we're playing closer to average possession games, but his advanced stats are really good, he has a big impact on the offense.

GB was down 14-5, but fired back to take a 43-33 lead into the half.

GB empties is bench at the end, because it was another blow out win. This team doesn't need to play super high possession basketball to score big, it uses great spacing to create great shots.
GB had won 5 of its last 7.

GB had won 5 of its last 7. I have to say it, shades of Dick Bennett and his first year. We are seeing gradual improvement even if we do not understand the player rotation. The arrow is pointing up and perhaps good things ahead.

I like the defense I see from this team and the offense plays smarter for the most part. Really excited for the future especially if Amari returns next year.
Does anyone know how the “free year” works? Does Amari get another year but Jefferson doesn’t? Does pipes?
Right now we are a 7 seed. I assume top four seeds will get byes. I really hope they play the tourney this year as there is talks they might not. This team could make some noise there but gotta figure out how to win on the road as the case with a lot of recent GB teams. 1-8 on the road.
Sucks UWM won in OT. We need Cleveland St (other than against us) and Wright St to just keep winning.
A four seed is not out of reach yet if we can figure out how to win on the road.
That said I hate this back to back structure. There’s no way UWM would have swept us had we played them later in the year in our second game against them.

Does anyone know how the “free year” works? Does Amari get another year but Jefferson doesn’t? Does pipes? If I’m understanding it right, everybody that’s on a roster this year will get another season of eligibility so both Jefferson and Pipes will be able to play another season if they want to, here or elsewhere. That’s how it is for pretty much every college sport due to the pandemic so some schools may not be able to afford all those extra scholarships for seniors that want to come back. It would be a bad look too if a school says yes we’ll take our men’s basketball 5th year seniors for another scholarship season but not a 5th year softball senior for example. It’ll be interesting to see what GB / Pipes / Jefferson decide to do. Amari will have 3 more seasons left if he wants them, Steiber will have 4 more seasons, ect. Players normally get to play 4 seasons in a 5 year span but anybody on a roster this year will get 5 seasons over 6 years. The caveat though is that schools will be able to exceed the 13-player scholarship limit next season only. So GB could have 15-scholarship players next year (if both seniors want to come back and GB has them back) but after that, the program would need to get back down to 13. So that is going to be a very interesting dynamic to watch, especially with guys on the current roster having extra eligibility while at the same time trying to recruit new guys. Great win today, two great performances this weekend. Let’s keep it rolling against the league leaders next weekend.

There is talks of it somewhere.
