It's pretty baffling that GB hasn't had much success recruiting in Minnesota considering they only had 1 Division I school and 0 mid-major schools until now. I agree that with UST going D1 it will make it a little bit more difficult to make any in-roads into Minnesota recruiting, especially with programs like NDSU, SDSU, Northern Iowa, ect already having had a lot of success establishing a pipeline to get those MN mid-major recruits.
GB's new coaching staff seems pretty poised to be competitive anywhere in the Midwest on the recruiting trail though which is exciting, especially a guy like Jared Swanson who is a Minnesota native and likely recruited the area during his time as an assistant at NDSU.

Green Bay hasn't had success recruiting Minnesota based on sheer numbers, but 2 of the programs NBA draft picks hail from that state. Not many games played closer to that region likely hurts.
I'm not worried about any challenges or inability recruiting there. I'm far more concerned with recruiting in Wisconsin, and encouraged that the new staff will be able to do that.

St Thomas has a chance to be a sleeping giant. MPLS/ St Paul market and an area with plenty of players. What St Thomas can offer has to entice kids who may have went to the Dakotas or elsewhere is impressive. Will they focus on FCS football or push for a great mid major basketball atmopshere. I agree, GB needs to focus on that metro and with all the success that Wisconsin has had with Minnesota kids, maybe in time our version of Badger ball can get some kids who play a similar way.
