If uwgb gets a big man it could mean will chevalier is gone but maybe not having three big man would not be a bad thing

We need rebounding help and another inside presence. Period. Terrence Thompson and Will Chevalier (if he hasn't left the team) aren't enough.

I did forget about Kellogg.....He will need to gain a little weight before the season; I see him as more of a big 3 and not a 4. Maybe he will thrive in Ryan's swing system.

If will chevalier is gone Kellogg will have to play some four might possibly start at the four position if they don’t get a big man

The maybe one scholarship open will be interesting to see what they do with it and the walk on spot the line ups will be more interesting the last year with not having a lot of big guys and having a few guys who are tall and athletic should be interesting with the different lineups exciting

My expectations for this season are the second round of the tournament. We have the best player in the conference and if we can just play a little defense (which Will Ryan will actually teach) and some rebounding (hopefully kellog and this guy from Turkey help) then there is no reason GB can't run the Horizon league with all the talent other teams lost.

Is it a tragedy if there is no college basketball this season uwgb still has Amari and tt that’s something but they lose pj and Jefferson that’s sad.
Being pjs former manger it’s sucks if he can’t play and loses his eligibility and can’t play he’s great man good player doesn’t deserve not to play on one side the horizon league could get tougher next season so if he gets his eligibility back there still at the bottom because the horizon leagues still gets tougher next season

If there will be fan restrictions that will really kill any hype hiring a new coach might have gotten.
With Espnplus fans can no longer watch games for free and I along with others aren’t going to pay for those games unless they are a first place team.
That is why I don’t understand the timing of this move in firing Linc although I do agree with the move overall.
They aren’t really saving money by firing him now versus next year and if the school gets no revenue playing in front of no fans it will really backfire on an already thin budget.
We all need to hope and pray a vaccine is found soon or a lot of Schools like GB will be in major financial ruins. Firing a coach just makes it way worse.
I also don’t see how they couldn’t have gotten Ryan next year unless they strongly believe he was gonna light Wheeling on fire this year to the point that others would be interested.

There is not going to be a vaccine before the college basketball season begins. The reality is we will be lucky if there is a basketball season this year.
It is very suspicious to me that a new chancellor comes in and during a pandemic his first priority is to fire the basketball coach in his first week on the job. Will Ryan did not get this job based on his coaching resume, he got this job because his father is Bo Ryan. Period.
Better look at the people making the financial decisions for the college if Green Bay is not able to fill the stands to pay the salary for two coaches!!

IF we have basketball, it will be significantly abbreviated. Good to see GB is funding Linc’s golf game, saw him on the course the other day, too bad we need that money for basketball.

Better look at the people making the financial decisions for the college if Green Bay is not able to fill the stands to pay the salary for two coaches!! Linc was a successful coach at Green Bay. I will give him that. Seemed to always have us in the middle of the pack with a shot at the top 2 seeds most years. Therefore VERY competitive. I will always take that. Very inconsistent though. Would play well one night and then get blown off the court the next. See IUPUI the past 5 years. BUT basketball is a business as well and he did not do well on the business side of basketball. Attendance plummeted in his time at Green Bay, fund raising was lacking and most importantly fan support was scarce. I am for ever grateful for Linc for that NCAA appearance but at the mid major level you have to be more than a basketball coach and get butts in the seats and up that interest in the community. As for a basketball season, there will be some sort of year. AAU tournaments are going on right now across the country, NBA is doing its thing as well. Maybe we won’t have fans in the stand but basketball is basketball to me.

Maybe we won’t have fans in the stand but basketball is basketball to me. I agree that basketball is a business as well and I assume the biggest money maker at Green Bay. I do not understand why it would be the coaches job to get fans in the stands, he recruited the Horizon League Freshman of the Year, I would think that would of brought people. I believe the Athletic Director should do a better job of promoting the program and getting people to the games. I see now that they have a new coach they are lowering ticket prices, wonder why that never occurred to Guthrie before. As far as fund raising I would say the numerous paid games Coach Darner played at the beginning of the year would be considered fund raising, which benefited all the athletic programs. Common sense would tell you that the boys were worn out from all the traveling and playing of better, bigger, and stronger programs. Don't think there are any coaches who want to play 5 paid games and go 0-5. Why isn't it the Athletic Director's job to do the fundraising? I am starting to wonder what the Athletic Director does? I am not as optimistic as you that there will be a season. There is a big difference in the money the NBA has to play compared to the Horizon League.
