It looks like Bizeau committed to an NAIA school in Indianapolis. Barlow Alleruzzo - 6'9" JUCO forward from Chicago, he played at Des Moines Area CC and averaged 9.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this past season. He shot about 32% from 3-point range, so a big that can potentially knock down threes would be a good fit for the swing offense. He'd be immediately eligible and have two years left. www.dmaccbears.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/bios/alleruzzo_barlow_8up8Looks like UIC and Chicago State offered him a scholarship as a high schooler but he decided to go to the JUCO route. Looking at the current roster situation, Jefferson, Pipes, Blayton Williams, and Paris Taylor will be the only upperclassmen on the roster so a JUCO big in this case makes sense to me. They definitely need another post guy that can play right away.

Barlow certainly looks like a good athlete. His highlight video was predominantly him shooting 3s. That’s a necessary skill at this level, but I would’ve like to see more of what he has to offer working the post on both sides of the ball. The few times it showed him scoring around the hoop, it didn’t really look like he was using his size to his advantage.

There isn’t a great number of big men left probably left to go get like someone else kind of said maybe a small forward which uwgb needs this year or next year transfer wise big men seems like a small number maybe they have a lot of point guards this year but could have more shooting guards

Of the guys I originally mentioned most are off of the board now.
I tried to find guys who were taller, could shoot and would commit to GB potentially.
Blake Verbeek is at Grand Valley State. Gavin Bizeau is at Marian. Hidden Roessik is at UMKC. Kristian Lafayette knew Leon Ayers which is why I put him on the list. He is uncommitted still.
Barlow is an effective rebounder in addition to what is on that video. He played on a team that had a true 6'11" starter which is part of why you see him on the perimeter so much. On the whole he would help GB if they still feel like they need a big man.
Also, Lorenzo Edwards went to college of Charleston.
Austin Trice is still uncommitted. In watching him he's a bull inside but would be limited on the perimeter on both ends and wouldn't fit in the spot I was originally thinking.
If Claflin or one of the Taylor's can defend bigger wing players then GB should be set. If not then this is an area of concern in addition to getting another big man who is ready to contribute.

Claflin is still is redshirted for this season he’s a walk on this season still or he’s a scholarship player? I assume so but you never know. GB doesn't have Leon or Tank anymore so things are different than when he committed. Also, if GB hires Pritzl that may change how they view Claflin. Hillsdale recruited Claflin, Pritzl might see him as ready to play.

Also, in looking further I would describe Barlow as an inconsistent rebounder. He can have double digits one game with a high of 17 in a game. That was followed by 3 and 0.
His overall ratio seems good for the amount he plays.
Get Chevalier out of retirement and call it a day. He can probably be ready by conference play if he's had the last 3 months off.

It would be helpful for the coaching transition to bring back a familiar face. Chevalier would be a better fit in the Ryan system than he was in the Darner offense.

At this point, I think it’s best not to pressure a kid back into the sport. He was a solid kid who showed some real flashes, but if his heart just isn’t in it, or for whatever other reasons he has for stepping aside, then I think it’s best to honor his choice.

I was mostly kidding about getting him out of "retirement" and I'm good with his decision. I do think it is fair to wonder if anyone has asked him his status. Stick with me on this. He hasn't said anything publicly, that is fine. Perhaps his feelings would be different because of the coaching change. Maybe he wouldn't ask to come back because of the perception. Maybe coach didn't ask him because he was told he doesn't want to play. If something has changed for Will a check in couldn't hurt if it hasn't been done already. We all know of times in our lives that unexpected conversation did happen and it changed the outcome of what seemed to be already decided. We all know of times we wished we had conversation to see if an outcome would change but we didn't take the first step. Since we are just opining on a message board I see no harm in wondering about the most obvious big man they have access to 😁

Do teams usually bank two scholarships though seems unusual unlikely unless your tanking rebuilding learning your system not trying to win going to play your walk ons going more than playing 7 and playing everyone since you have 11 scholarship players are hurt and 2 walk ons it’s a new chance but maybe you stick your 7 guys

The potential for the biggest mistakes in recruiting happen at this time in the process. There are tough questions to ask before bringing someone in -- why are they available -- how will they impact team chemistry -- how much do I know about their skillset if I haven't seen them in person and only on video?

Hopefully there’s a sand Cohen type player guard to pair next Amari graduate from a big school who averaged 20 ppg and likes uwgb a roster and can really shoot threes to replace jayquan
