I was looking at Verbal Commits and I can find 22 guys who are 6'9" or taller that are still available in the portal. There are a few more guys who are 6'8" that are available. In general it is a mix of guys who probably think they are too guy for mid majors and guys who are not D1 players.
I do think one downfall for Coach Darner was not getting any bigger guys and the bigger guys he had he really didn't play them. Even Kanter had to force his way into the lineup as he was riding the pine more than playing when he exploded against the MAC his junior year.
I don't want Coach Ryan to befall the same fate and not have any taller guys to play. To win some of these high major games they play they are going to need some more size.
As it relates to the current guys in the portal it is slim pickings. The LSU guy is 6'8" but assuming his baggage isn't too severe he's interesting. Kristian Lafayette is skinny but tall and can shoot, he's interesting. Noah Bigirumwami didn't do much at Chicago State but he is a grad transfer that is willing to play in this region. Hal Hughes and Tristan Forsyth are from Australia, maybe Jared Swanson can connect with them, though stats wise they didn't look great. Connor Niego isn't a big inside presence, he can shoot though, maybe the Freddie Owens connection helps.
Unless someone really worthwhile comes along GB might be rolling with what they have.

Get two big men you have to walk on guards I know at wheeling he only used seven but if there shooting big men or one is like will you need the size playing 6-6 doesn’t work if you want to be better then number 3 in the standings
Being a 6-6 big man I meant doesn’t work that’s how uwgb has been doing it for five years that might work d2 d3 but d1 you play the badgers they play keep away dunk shoot the three doesn’t work proven Xavier texas a&m Oregon every big school you play 7’3 bol bol then it’s a big problem that’s really short big man.
Noah went to a went to a local school 2 points to rebounds 6-10 210lbs get in the weight room could transition well. Grad transfer can play right away. Looks like he played naia and juco or either one possibly. San Bernardino valley college before Chicago state

TT might be better then manny Amari is a superstar pj is not replaceable the starting line up could look up could look different depending on the game there a deeper team it’s look like and they were a final four team even with two less scholarship players

Sam hofman I think just transferred from Detroit 6’5 260 forward averaged a rebound 2 points per game had 6 points vs uwgb. Verbal commits said he transferred yesterday. He was a freshman so I’m guessing he has 3 years to play he is from Belgium I think foreign player interesting could start a trend. 260 lbs for a freshman that’s like loudan love that’s what uwgb needs since chevalier left he can’t play this year get bigger stronger look out get him please big body his small in height so was Charles Barkley so is zion williamson. Knows the conference playing at Detroit learn the conference more sitting out a year 260 lbs guys don’t come around every day just like 7-0 just like everyone says from the there same league there are negatives probably sure but him sitting out a year helps. Versus uwgb 6 points 6 rebounds not a bad game that’s a start to a good player. The guy is already huge seeing him and tt on the court is interesting I want it to happen is background played for 18u national team for Belgium like cem. Played for u17 national turkey team so Sam Hoffman is talented.\\\

Nicholas Hopkins a 6-0 guard Belmont those guys can usually score he’s got one year left 5.6 this season but 6.6 the year before 7.4 points the year before that so he started off better he’s small but experienced at a good school 33 games played the last two years played 16 minutes his first two years maybe he’s no good.
Freshman dreshawn Allen from western Illinois averaged 2.7 points from Michigan.
Yor anei from Oklahoma state pf 6’10 235lbs from kansas has two years. Averaged 8 points 5 rebounds. He wasn’t a 5 star recruit he brings height from a big school it seems kind of dumb when there’s talent it might already failure if you don’t go after any talent with two scholarship get Logan Schafer do something or lose I’ve been a fan for just over ten years maybe there’s fans for over 50 years if your going to play small ball you got be really good uwgb hasn’t really other wise you win in the horizon league tournament.
Bobby Arthur Williams Milwaukee he would bring size. He looks like Nigel Hayes. This year he played in two games had 2 points and 4 rebounds. Graduate transfer. There’s a intrigue coming from Milwaukee he was at a juco school before Milwaukee. He’s 6’7 225 lbs. Can play 3,4,5 athletic when they got best vs Oakland he looks like a oladapo stopper a manny replacement he looks bigger then 227 he’s big. Can make threes guard the post ball handle replace tre bell but even bigger if possible love tre bell he was awesome he’s where he suppose to be sort of but Bobby is replacement for the guys who transferred and he is from Milwaukee panthers it would be interesting.
Chris Barnes sg Eastern Michigan. 5 points 1 year left.
Arturo Bingham Milwaukee has two years left averaged 3 points was at a juco before Milwaukee shot 35% from three. Had games of 5 and 6 points. Taking a horizon league player even if there just average players does something use your developmental coaching skills if he sits out a year he definitely will he has more than 1 year it worth risks.
Anyerio castillo sf 6’7 195 lbs from the Dominican Republic from kent state. 1 year left. Went to a juco before central Georgia tech.
Dj russel From Robert Morris. 6’7 210 lbs. He left in December he’s a senior so maybe he’s a graduate transfer. Known as a juco star a top 50 juco player so was probably on that top 100 juco players list. Even he does not get a waiver to play this season talented player played for Robert Morris a team that has not been in the conference before would get a good year out of him.
Jace Cooley from Chicago state. 1 year sf 6’7 200 lbs from Canada. 9 points per game 5 rebound per game

Will, with all due respect, can you please just put all your thoughts in one post instead of posting 10+ consecutive messages without anyone else responding. Also, a little punctuation would help in understanding what you are trying to say. Just trying to help everyone out. I’m sure you will probably blow me up for this but I come here to read and learn about GB basketball, not to post, so it makes it difficult to get through everything with several back to back posts of fragmented thoughts.

I appreciate your enthusiasm Will but I agree with Markus, please try to keep your thoughts in one post so it's a little easier to read. I just went through and deleted more than 30 posts in this thread from yesterday alone and condensed them into a couple.

It’s possible that angold and Moore haven’t filed a transfer wavier and probably won’t they want to redshirt to get better during the redshirt year and get stronger hopefully they both filed there waivers it would be nice to have one of them.

While anything is possible in the 2020 transfer waiver world I can't see a case for Ansong receiving a waiver. He moved farther from home and followed his coach prior to his old team even hiring a new coach.
I could see a case of Moore. The assistant that recruited him to Toledo left before the season started, he rarely played and was part of group of 4 Toledo players that didn't play a lot to announce they were transferring just 2 days after the season was cancelled. Moore might have a stronger case for not being welcomed back to Toledo and therefore getting a waiver.
