What the hell is going on this offseason? Anyone have any info on this news of Linc being fired?

I think it's fair to debate whether he should've been fired or not but the timing of this is absolutely mind-boggling.
Darner kept GB as a top four Horizon League program for the most part but fan support has been bleeding - average attendance has decreased almost 50% from 3,581 fans in Brian Wardle's last season in 2015 to just 1,985 this season, the lowest since 1986.
Unless they already have a coach lined up, it's going to be incredibly hard to do a coaching search during a pandemic and even harder for that coach to recruit since we are definitely going to see a whole bunch of transfers and de-commitments I think. This is really shocking.

In what context could this possibly make sense? Is the program not going to stay afloat or something?

How do you keep a coach who has just had half the team transfer, or quit on him in the last few months?

How do you keep a coach who has just had half the team transfer, or quit on him in the last few months? Tons of hyperbole here. How do you know he was “quit on?” The only two key departures were Tre and Manny, not to mention we just landed TT.

This program is a mess. Bottom line. That's a fact.

The PR around the announcement is not good. Without an explanation from the administration, speculation does nothing but go wild. At this point, the only logical answer is dropping from D1 competition or a for-cause situation. If the school plans on continuing at Division One they need an interim coach ASAP, preferably someone from Darner's staff.

This program is a mess. Bottom line. That's a fact. That I won’t deny. I don’t know all of the behind the scenes stuff, but on the surface this is just asinine, especially considering we had already solidified the recruiting class.

Maybe I misread the tweet from Goodman, but didn’t the entire staff get let go?

Guthrie said “he couldn’t comment” on the matter, according to WBAY reporter Dave Schroeder. Sounds like the school is scrambling here, something must’ve just came up.

I sure hope the AD isn't asleep at the wheel. He better be on the phone with every current and scheduled incoming player on the team. No matter what happens he owes them a life-line of communication.
