Solid win for the Phoenix. And the over easily hit. It’s a great night!

Linc Darner will get another extension now that we are guaranteed 4th. Yay!
I hate this! Not that I want to get rid of him but it rewards being average.

That was a high scoring game, a really impressive display of offense by both teams. It almost felt like the lead was never safe no matter how big it was because YSU was able to keep scoring.
In the end it was a big win in a must win situation.
Congrats to JayQuan for going over 1000 points in his GB career!
Now GB has to back this up with another big win against a very pesky CSU team on Saturday night. UIC plays in the afternoon so GB is going to know what they need to do before the game starts. No matter what though I hope they play hungry, like the win matters regardless of what UIC did.

I have been away from the message boards for some time. But I would like to make my return to Congratulate Linc Darner on earning another contract extension

With that being said, I took some criticism for my comments towards the team earlier in the year, so I will provide an update where I stand and would appreciate others thoughts.
Ill start with Cody since those comments found there way into an article. He has improved greatly since then, much better at dribbling less and that new fadeaway from the post has been a pleasant sight. Also, like the way hes used now, with him not guarding as many bigs.
Mcloud and Davis don't need much talking as we all know they are the two that carry this team.
Would like to see Will play a lot more. Best 3 pt shooter on the team, great rebounder, and does a great job protecting the rim.
Manny, its about time we see him play big minutes. Earlier in the year I had no clue why Linc hardly played him. Outstanding conference season from him.
McNair brings great energy but for his size it would be great if he could develop a shot and not dribble. Does provide great energy though and brings a nice spark when the team gets sluggish.
Would love to see Kam be more aggressive down the stretch here. Too often it seems he disappears when he has proven he can create and hit big shots.
As far as improvements I want to see. Defense is a continued problem, especially the lack of communication on picks and the ease with which people can penetrate. Too often a guy is coming off a ball screen and either going right to the rim or there is late help leading to a wide open three. Also, rebounding has improved slightly but is still a problem. Manny has helped a lot with rebounding but I think playing Will more would do wonders. Also, would like to see them press full court more often, and use an actual press with traps instead of just the token pressure.

Good ft shooting and floor shooting. This is what we want. Nix have won a bunch of d1 road games. yes we are not UNC (son graduated from there so an obvious bias) but better to be the best of the middle than the worst.

Neither is a few games over 500 each year. If that’s what you consider a successful program go follow Youngstown St or UIC. Some of us have higher standards. I don’t mind the extensions for conference titles or even if they get at least 20 wins. But rewarding middle of the pack doesn’t work when you have the history this program does. The attendance the past few years shows that I’m not alone in my thinking either. That said if Linc can figure out a way to get hot and win an extremely weak conference this year I have zero issues giving him an extension.

Can we all make a deal that we do not speak of Linc's contract again until after the season ends?
My guess is nobody really thinks it should rollover like it does. However, this team is currently 4 winnable games from the NCAA tournament. My other guess is that nobody really wants to miss out on the NCAA tournament either.
I think we should return to our opinions on these organizational matters in a few weeks but right now if you aren't with the team 100% then you are against them and they don't need that. Lets focus on the task at hand, helping get a team that we take the time to watch and talk about into the NCAA tournament!!

As long as they win the horizon league tournament, that’s fine with me. Hate to break it to you but Green Bay is a mid major. Regular season records don’t mean shit. In 2014 GB finished 24-7 and look where that got them.
