Well now that game one is done, it is on to the second game. Will be nice to get the first win of the season here as well as put forth a few highlight dunks. Also, will be nice to see Cody Schwartz and Hunter Christ play people of their same talent level.

Hope to see the same student turn out. If Tank isnt healthy, may as well rest him.

Since we didn't see any garbage time minutes for Kellogg or the walk-ons against Purdue, is it safe to assume they will be redshirting this season? If they don't play at all on Saturday either that would probably confirm it.
That would make those three plus Jacob Jones our four person freshman "recruiting class" next year.

Any one else get frustrated when both McNair and Tank are on the floor at the same time? They seem to do a lot of dribbling around the top of the key and often lose the ball. I think opposing teams know that these two guys can pretty much do next to nothing offensively unless its taking it to the hoop.
For defense these two are great but offensively they really kill the Phoenix in a half court game.

However, McNair is essentially useless on offense unless its in transition and he dribbles way too much for someone who can not create off the dribble.

Welcome, as I was saying this last year on Tank and McNair except we think we need them because of rebounding but they hasn't really seemed to help. We still give up to many 2nd chance shots. However, it is relative to who we play. This Saturday, they will look like top 5 guys It may not be as bad, it they got it coming off a curl or something where the defense is chasing but not just on a straight face up again bigger guys. Also, Tank does get to the line. Last year he took 177 free throw shots but hopefully this year, he shots a better % from the line.

For all those worried that this was a trap game, fear not, the Phoenix prevailed! And after a performance like that, how can they not be the favorites in the Horizon League?!

A win in any fashion is nice, so I’ll take it. Amari is going to be a star.

Burn the tape and delete the box score. Just like playing Purdue isn't indicative of anything, playing Stout isn't indicative of anything either.
Hopefully no bad habits carryover to New Mexico.
Glad everyone finished up healthy and that Tank was able to rest.
