I am excited for a home game!
I don't know much about FIU but they don't appear to shoot or rebound well. They do score a lot of points despite that. It looks like they turn teams over and score that way. Initially I'm thinking if GB can protect the ball they have a good chance to win.

FIU is 20-13 went 10-8 in CUSA. 195 in Kenpom (GB is now 194) and play at the fastest tempo in the country (GB is 11th out of 353). Should be a shootout and an entertaining game. Sure hope that it is general admission seating at the Kress for this one and they can usher anyone who comes down to the lower level to make for a good atmopshere.

Below is the remaining schedule. With a quick turnaround on Thursday, you would have to believe that each match-up has either a predetermined opponent and the winner of one of the match-ups will host. A win and a flight to Newark (NJIT) sounds good to me.
SUNDAY, MARCH 24 Presbyterian (19-15) vs. Robert Morris (18-16) 1:00 pm
MONDAY, MARCH 25 Texas Southern (22-13) vs. UT Rio Grande Valley (20-16) 8:00 pm CSU Bakersfield (17-15) vs. Southern Utah (17-16) 8:30 pm
TUESDAY, MARCH 26 Presbyterian (19-15) or Robert Morris (18-16) vs. Marshall (20-14) 7:00 pm (Quarterfinal Game) Charleston Southern (18-15) vs. Hampton (17-17) 7:00 pm FIU (20-13) vs. Green Bay (18-16) 8:00 pm
Quarterfinals
THURSDAY, MARCH 28 TBD vs. NJIT (22-12) 7:00 pm TBD vs. UL Monroe (19-15) 8:00 pm TBD vs. TBD
Semifinals April 2
Championship April 4

If they reserve center court sections for season ticket holders then they can do GA everywhere else. I know some season ticket holders won't like being relegated to GA behind people who spend less money every season.
The game itself should be fun based on the style. It certainly seems like FIU plays fast but looking at stats maybe not as effectively as GB.

I think that the 2 games on Monday would feed to NJIT and UL Monroe while the four teams on Tuesday will play amongst themselves on Thursday. A win could lead to another home game.

Think we can get a return trip to Florida International next year? Would be fun.

Think we can get a return trip to Florida International next year? Would be fun. It could be possible if the two teams wanted to offset the hosting fee. Linc has enough connections in Florida that he may be able to get another game down there as well.

Here is the email I received. Tickets On Sale at 10:00 a.m. Your Green Bay Men's basketball team will host Florida International Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Kress Center as part of the second round of the College Insider Tournament (CIT). Tickets will go on sale Monday at 10:00 a.m. and can be purchased online at bit.ly/2TtTUrh or in person at the Kress Events Center box office. Seating will be general admission with the lower bowl specifically set aside for season ticket holders using promo code XXXXXXXXX (not the promo code). General fans must purchase tickets in the upper bowl. CIT Ticket Prices: Lower Bowl Adult: $10.00 Lower Bowl Youth (17 & under): $5.00 Upper Bowl Adult: $10.00 Upper Bowl Youth (17 & under): $5.00 Any questions can be directed to the Green Bay Box Office by calling (920) 465-2625 between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm. So it will be season ticket holders only in the lower bowl. I am curious what the capacity of the lower bowl is? My guess is between 1000-1500. I understand reserving for the season ticket holders but realistically will the lower bowl even be filled? Hopefully they encourage some folks to move down for the 2nd half it there is open seating.

Maybe this game will be like the Loyola Marymount-UNLV match-ups in the late 80's/early 90's.

Well doesn't matter if we don't win tonight.
Gotta spend money to make money, bold strategy but I kind of like it.

It is game day! If you aren't locked in already it is time to catch up.
A few thoughts: 1. In the first round of this tournament the home teams went 8-5. In the second round so far they are 0-3. Some of that is because bad teams were hosting but some of that is just being ready to go and treating each game like a big deal. I hope the GB guys are ready to go against an interesting style that they don't see very often.
2. Hopefully the ticket email didn't end up in a lot of peoples junk folders. That isn't GB's fault and hopefully it isn't an omen about how the game goes.
3. My educated guess is the lower bowl on the sides has about 1000 total seats. GB got most of their season ticket holders out for the UIC game, it isn't impossible to expect those seats to be filled again. I would agree though by the 10 minute mark in the first half then every lower seat should just get filled if people want to move down.
4. As stated above it doesn't matter if they don't win but I love that they might host again this week! Hopefully they are ready to sell tickets right after the game. Being able to buy in person might help with some of the service fees mentioned above as well.

My email went to junk but I found it and I called and paid $10 per ticket with a one time ticket fee of $3.25 for a total of $23.25. For $10 tickets, I am not going to complain about a service fee.
