GB never fell behind by double digits so there’s one positive from tonight.
Defense looked better but we got absolutely demolished on the glass.
Program doesn’t feel like it’s in a good spot right now. Hopefully they can get back on the right track soon.

I am not suggesting this is great but having 2600 people at a Thursday night game isn’t too bad considering where they have been. It is a darn shame that most had to leave disappointed. I thought the GB defense was better than it has been recently. However, they picked a bad time to go 7-26 from behind the arc. Add in that IUPUI was plus 10 on offensive rebounding and plus 8 on defensive rebounding and the team had to play uphill even if they never got down by 10 or more. Down the stretch it got a little too individual on offense and they didn’t score to close the game out.
One positive was the improved contributions from Hunter and Josh.
I hate looking too far ahead but UIC is coming after a tough loss and then GB has a tough pair on the road. If GB wants to stay relevant and make the conference tournament they are going to need to rattle off some wins and get separation from the pack of teams currently at 3-3.
As a side note I bashed IUPUI on this board about being able to join the league. Three losses to them is enough punishment, GB has to beat these guys in Indy.

Man we went from talking about to possibly winning the conference to not making the conference tournament. Now that’s crazy BUT it could happen if we don’t turn things around. Going to have to win multiple games on the road.
Probably the wrong thread for this but with Linc grabbing 4 JUCO’s this past year to put this team in “win now” mode it is kind of back firing. These guys were brought in for their expiernce and too win ball games. Right now it’s not happening. Now in a year in a half we have 6-7 scholarships to fill and another total rebuild.
Not quite sure what’s going on with Jevon Smith either.
