All of the attention is on how great Antoine Davis has been. I have watched several games for Detroit and he is going to put up a lot of shots. Not all of them are high quality but he will keep shooting. I think they should try and take away everyone else and let Davis do his thing. If Davis goes off for 40 points the rest of the team gets 30ish points. GB should be able to score more than 70ish points on Detroit and hopefully still win.
I know I am tempting fate by asking to let a guy go off but Davis he is very streaky and never stops shooting. If he is cold, that is good for GB. If he is the only guy scoring that too is probably good for GB as one man shouldn't be able to beat five. If Davis gets rolling and they don't lock down everyone else this is a loss. I see two ways to win and one way to loss, assuming GB isn't laying an egg on offense.
Also, please bring back more of the full court trapping. I get that guys might play less as they will get tired sooner but that style of play is hard for most HL teams to match up against. I hope the GB players understand this.

In regards to Davis just getting his points, that’s what Wright State did and he scored 48 points. Detroit won. So it scares me to do that.

I thought about that but WSU only scored 58 points and Detroit scored 79. GB is more capable on offense and better score more than 58 points. Plus I thought WSU didn't really close out on him at the 3 point line very hard. Make him move or drive even if you don't help much. WSU let him shoot a lot of stationary open 3's, that isn't a good plan or what I have in mind when I say suggest letting him go off.
Against WSU Davis was 15-24 from the field, 10-15 from deep and 8-9 at the line. His team was 24-51, 12-26 and 19-29. They scored 79 points and won by 21.
Against NKU Davis was 13-24 from the field, 3-9 from deep and 4-4 at the line. His team was 26-61, 8-23 and 13-18. They scored 73 points and lost by 22.
To me Davis is going to get shots, just make him take less or at least tougher 3's and then make sure you shut down the other guys and then score at a normal clip.
I might end up being way off on this but I am think Davis is going to shoot no matter what. He is a high volume player and goes in spurts. Letting him shoot a lot isn't bad. Letting him shoot easy shots or letting other lesser players on his team shoot easy shots is bad. Davis is shoot first, shoot second, shoot third, ask questions, shoot again and then pass as a player. Let him be and win the game. There is a reason the second leading scorer in the country is on a team that is 6-10 overall.

Still gotta play him tight, I know, easier said than done, but nothing easy and I wouldn't double. Force him to drive!!! He can definitely score and doesn't need much room to get his shoot up, which is tough because if he starts to hit a couple in a row, help defenders nature reaction is to help, then the defense breaks down and other guys start to get involve. Guys have to stay home on the help side, box out on every shoot, and look for the long rebound on the missed 3. PJ is definitely a capable defender who makes very little mistakes when on the ball. And PJ has an edge and won't be pushed around, gonna need it tonight!!! LET'S GO GB!!!!!! 4-0 !!!!

His 2nd half numbers are not as good as his 1st half numbers so with the multiple guys we can through at him, we should be good. Even though, he just rest on D because of the 4-1 they play, we should be able to get the ball to the back of the zone with Tank, Bell, Cody and McNair. Get ball to the free throw line and we good. As much as Davis shoots, they do enough to keep the other guys into the game so just minimize their 2nd chances and build a lead and keep it. Their defense doesn't allow much for a come back as they don't seem to trap and has played limited man to man defense. Also, can't have the off ball fouls on Davis while chasing him around as he is good with his stop and go even without the ball to get guys to run up on him for fouls...

To go down big again for the 4th game is ridiculous. To give up over 50 points in the first half is ridiculous.
Defense has been hot garbage for the past 4 games along with the hot starts by the other teams. Is it the coaching or the players on the court?
Hope the guys can turn it around but will be tough on the road.

I figured they’d pull this shit and Vegas did too. Was wondering why the line was even. Same ole Phoenix can’t win on the road. Oakland losing too at least but all that probably means is a 3-2 record coming back home. Very disappointing. This is an issue under linc every year and is a glaring issue that needs to be fixed.

Hard to win when your opponent makes every shot 15 turnovers with 17:00 left doesn’t help

Any guard in the Horizon from the looks of it will get anything they want on our defense.

Probably my biggest gripe with this system is how there is never a sense of urgency until it’s too late or almost too late. There’s no “relentless pressure” until we are down a bunch. I don’t think Linc is a bad coach, but I’d like to see actual up tempo basketball and defensive pressure for more than the last 4 minutes when we are getting waxed. Long year, I still think we have a realistic shot at winning the league, but some things need to start changing schematically.

I also think certain players have too long of a leash. Lots of turnovers by Sandy the last few games, yet he rarely leaves the floor and still makes the same mistakes. I think a rotation is one of those things that should always be in flux. Good to see Jevon get some minutes, I’d still like to see TJ get out there more as well.

It’s too bad we have zero media presence or coverage for this team. If this was Wisconsin or Marquette the reporters would be critical of linc for refusing to play fourty minutes of hell when it clearly works.
This team can’t play half court defense to save their lives so who cares if they give up layups pressing? Better than the 20 3s they allow a game now. When Linc came here he promised rentless pressure for 40 minutes. He is looking more and more like a politician cause I’ve yet to see a single game where they’ve done that in his four years here. Getting fed up. These kind of losses are unacceptable to a team as poor as Detroit home or away. These are the kind of losses why gb will be lucky to draw 3000 for a single game this year.
Which brings me to my next point. Why are the cheapest tickets at the Kress or Resch 12 bucks? They should be charging five bucks until they can draw 3500 consistently. Families want cheap entertainment.
