With the best case for GB being 7-11 in league play I am pretty sure that means they can finish no higher than 7th. So if you are planning to go to Motor City Madness it looks like the first game will be on Friday and not Sunday. Also, from what I hear hotels are starting to get in short supply in downtown Detroit so book now or expect to pay extra later.

Want the 7 or 10 seed. Beating WSU as the 2 seed would be very manageable.

There really isn't a team in the Horizon League that the Phoenix don't have a chance to beat, just don't know if this team can win four games in five days. That being said, let's not forget what happened last year when UWM went 4-14 in conference yet made it to the title game. I guess anything can happen in Motor City Madness, so I'm still holding out hope!

#DaytonOrBust
Given that this team would have a losing record and a metrics over 250 they would be a #16 seed in a play in game in Dayton if they pull off the Motor City Miracle. I'm good with that. Win in Dayton and then play in the normal field gets the team two tournament shares instead of one.

Brackets are set
IF we can take care of business on Friday, I like our chances from then on out. We are playing our best ball right now while the two teams who we could play WSU/ Detroit are not.
Go Phoenix!

GB should have no problem getting past Detroit, and they should have a decent shot at beating WSU, especially if they can build some good momentum coming out of the Detroit game. I think it's going to be a challenge to get by the winner of the UWM/UIC game though, GB is a combined 1-3 against both of them and they looked pretty bad in all 3 losses.
Ultimately, there really isn't a clear favorite to win the tourney. With a young team, it won't be easy for GB to win four straight postseason games, but Linc's proven he can coach in the postseason, so I'm not counting them out. Time for another Motor City Miracle!

In D3, 11-win Berry College, the 8 seed in their conference tourney won three games in three days to make the NCAA tournament this year......it can be done, no matter how insurmountable it sounds

Just a quick comment about the idea of a neutral site tournament. I read a lot of chatter on various boards that the HL used to have a format that was the envy of all mid majors. Of the 32 conferences I believe only the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big South and Northeast use a format similar to what the HL used to use.
Some like the OVC, MAC, SWAC play a higher seed home game in round 1 with the winners moving to a neutral site.
As fans do we want to grow the league and compare it to the MVC, A10 WCC rather than the ASun or NEC?
With that said the HL does need to get off of this ridiculous Friday to Tuesday format that makes it tough for fans to actually attend. There is a reason why the MVC, American and others don't do that!
I am looking forward to seeing what happens in Detroit.

They can’t score. They can’t defend. They can’t rebound. Other than that, great job...
