Is he any good? He warned the bench at a bottom of the barrel school last year...

Also, I'm assuming this takes up our final scholarship for this year?

Had offers from Creighton, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, St. Joes, Toledo and Marquette. I would assume he takes the last scholarship unless someone on the team pays their own way like Jesperson did a couple years ago.

Maybe Avery Brown is leaving? I think that'd be the only way that GB gets Wampler or Whitens

Honestly he hasn't impressed me when I've watched him play at SJSU but it looked like he played much more towards the end of this year(good sign) . He is a stretch 4 that can shoot the three. Having guys like Schwartz, Chevalier and Cohen on the floor in two years gives GB lots of length. Always nice to have local prospects but even nicer if they win games.

Is he any good? He warned the bench at a bottom of the barrel school last year... Mountain West Conference with traditional basketball schools such as Nevada (should be top 25 next year), Boise State (has been very good last few years), Fresno State (Paul George of the Pacers played here), New Mexico (everyone has heard of the "Pit"), San Diego State (top 25 over last 10 years and Leonard of the Spurs played here and he is a pretty good Pro), Wyoming (won CBI this year), UNLV (not good this year but been a top flight program for years). I would call this league much, much better than the Horizon over last 20 years with their depth of schools (Sure Butler was a power in Horizon few years ago). Yes, San Jose had been down but had moved up in league last 2 years with young team.

I think this signing COULD be good, but I really hope we don't go down the TK road where we only get local guys versus going after better talent a little further away when the opportunity presents itself.

Lets see. We signed Bell from Chicago suburb, Pipes from Chicago suburb, Patterson from Chicago, Turner is from Chicago by way of Florida JC, Baines is from Wyoming JC. We have Will & Sandy local talents. Sounds like we have been all over in signing guys!
