Can't find full stats on him because JUCO sites suck at that, but a consistent theme I've seen looking at the box scores is that he has a very poor FG percentage and will take the occasional 3, but he gets a ton of rebounds per game. Not sure how I feel about this signing, I think we needed a sharpshooter instead.

Looking further into his stats, it looks like when he's on, he's totally on and makes a good chunk of his shots, but when he's off, he might as well be invisible, a kind of Shane Hammink type player. Hopefully he can have more good days than bad days here.

Sukhjot Bains: 12.2 points per game. 8.2 rebounds per game. 72.4% free throws. 33 % three pointer. 48.4% field goal shooting. Very good defensive rebounder....excellent fit for GB.

He did one year at a prep school out east after high school and two years at a Wyoming JUCO. The stats from high school, prep and JUCO school above average rebounding and range on his shoot. Bains looks like a solid experienced addition who should help up front. His three year journey seems to have had more to do with developing his game than any potential academic issue.

He looks like a good enough prospect. I would assume they view him as more of a Botz replacement than a guard. I can't see needing Cohen, Turner, Bell, Hankerson and Small along with him playing some of the same positions. If they do view him as a guard that has to close the book on Wampler coming to GB. Even with one scholarship to give out I still think GB needs a big body so unless someone else is leaving where does that leave GB with Wampler?
I hope he is better than and lasts longer than the last guy I remember from WY, Chase Sukut.

I would think this signing, coupled with reports of Wampler taking visits to other schools like Wright State probably signifies us not being "in" on him and hopefully we are looking for a PF/C.

Based on that picture of Bains and his teammates I have to wonder if he was playing for the Bad News Bears.
I wonder when the athletic department will have official comments and a news release for Patterson, Bains and Turner.
