In case no one has noticed, the women's volley ball team has gotten off to a great start defeating Milwaukee today to take sole possession of first place with a 4-0 Horizon League record. 12 and 4 overall.

I watched most of the match. It was a great comeback for the team. It is really good to see that team doing well after being down for about as long as I can remember. I would expect their coach will get lots of looks from other programs when the season is over.

Not only has the women's volleyball team been successful once again the women's basketball team is on another roll. The GB women have lost one game out of seven with that loss only being to the then ranked number one team in the country, Notre Dame. Last night the GB women gave Marquette is first home loss of the season with a convincing 78 to 63 victory. Junior Jessica Lindstrom is having a spectacular season as she posted her 5 double double out of their first 7 games with 12 boards and 24 points while making 5 out of 6 three pointers. Mehryn Kraker had another steady game tossing in 19 points with local Allie LeClaire scoring 15. What is also truly amazing is that every player on this years roster is from the state of Wisconsin. Next year the GB women will be bringing in a player from South Dakota. One from Minnesota and one (believe a four star) from Verona, Wisconsin. Coach Borseth and staff will again reload next year. Friday's game at South Dakota State will be a very challenging one for the Phoenix. Last year GB beat them at the Kress Center by one.

Pretty crazy that the Horizon League almost got 3 teams into the NCAA Volleyball Tournament. Wright State is the last at-large in the field and GB is unfortunately one of the first four out. NKU won the autobid:
