Makes total sense to me and a fair assessment of the situation from him. Best of luck whatever he decides.

Currently in a dead period right now so therefore coaches can’t make contact until 19APR. Therefore hopefully Coach Darner and staff roll out the red carpet for this kid or be sitting in his living room on the 19th convincing him that Green Bay is the place to be. Don’t get too many second chances at signing a Mr. Basketball (Yes I know Trevor Anderson was a Mr. Basketball as well 😡)

I’m just happy we are mentioned in the teams who have reached out. Go get him Linc!

Green Bay checked all the boxes for Marcus except the student section part. According to articles, Marcus wanted to play for a school with a good student section and support from the student body. Therefore this one isn’t on Linc, it’s on the lack of support from the students.

I wouldn't say that this is on the student section. It might not be on Linc per se but it certainly has something to do with not feeling like GB, GB's style (my guess), the connection with the staff or something else is off. Some of those other schools don't have historically great student sections either.
My guess is he goes to Cincy. Same region and coach he liked but bigger level of hoops. He can always come down a level but you can't always go up. With that said being offered by Cincy doesn't change that he is probably a mid major level player.

This is great news because we won’t have to play against him twice a year and he’s not going to NKU.

Southern Illinois is at ground zero of a rebuild. Lots of PT available but it will take time to see if the program can be turned around. If Marcus didn't pick GB I'll glad he's out of the league for the time being.

Picking SIU makes zero sense for Marcus. He originally said he wanted to go to a program that had a chance to win trophies, if SIU is a rebuild job then why would he select there?
As mentioned before just glad he didn’t end up at NKU. Nice punch in the gut to those wonderful NKU fans.

It's a solid pick. In the end he picked the best league he could get to and a program that has a good history and has new hope right now.
They averaged 4400 fans last year for an average quality team. The Valley is the kind of league that gets support especially when they are winning.
