Good find, can someone explain to me the difference between an official and unofficial visit?

Unofficial, the player's own dime for the visit
Official, the school pays the freight for recruit and a guardian (transportion, food and housing for visit)
Recruits have a limited number of "official" visits they can take -- I'm not sure of the number, 4 or five?

Gotcha, looking at his current offers Green Bay should have a chance. Looks like a highly rated recruit.

I am happy to read that he is making an official visit. I think GB needs another big body in this class. While he doesn't seem like a perimeter player at this time he has skills GB can use. I like their chances of landing him given his other visit isn't to a better hoops program.

Also, he is AAU teammates with Demarius Jacobs who GB has been recruiting. Jacobs has a high ceiling and would make a great package deal with Patterson.

This is a bit of a tangent but it's worth taking the journey back while we all wait for something to happen. In the 1970s the Nix had a player named Gordon Patterson, a smart player from the old Boy's Tech, in Milwaukee. He was 6-6 with some muscle. Patterson was pretty raw when he arrived but he developed into a classic overachiever post player with textbook moves. I hadn't thought about that era in a long time.

According to Bullseye Brothers -- Bradley making late push for MP guess they're still having transfer issues.

As I have been noticing hopefully he goes with a school that has been after him for the long haul. UWGB seems to have been doing that. Hopefully his official goes well this weekend! Good Luck UWGB!

Bradley doesn't have any seniors this year and already has one commit for next year. So Patterson would be committing to a situation where he knows multiple players will be forced out. That seems like a tough sell.
I think the biggest hurdle for Patterson is getting him to commit in the fall. In his early HS years he had interest from high majors, likely due to his size. That has mostly cooled down and he seems to be a mid major prospect. Many times guys get advice to wait or go to prep school to see if they develop more get high major offers. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. Ask Jerelle DeBerry if 3 years of waiting for Kent St was worth it.
Anyway, I really like Patterson and think he could be a solid 4 year contributor for GB based on the current format of the roster.

Unofficial, the player's own dime for the visit Official, the school pays the freight for recruit and a guardian (transportion, food and housing for visit) Recruits have a limited number of "official" visits they can take -- I'm not sure of the number, 4 or five? That's a total of five to all D1 and D2 schools combined. You can find some details here: www.ncsasports.org/blog/2012/10/11/official-visits-3/Recruiting procedures are very complicated, very detailed and get an occasional coach in a whole lot o trouble.

This might help the Nix cause. Bowling Green just picked up a commit from a 6-8 forward. (Derek Koch) BG has a lot of 6-8 plus bodies slacked up.
