Rob Demovsky confirms Clayton Heuer's transfer in todays story. Best of luck to Clayton. He gave us everything he had, and he is a D1 caliber player. He, just like allmost everyone else, just isn't as good as Alec Brown, meaning that minutes here were always going to be sparse. I'll guess he ends up at Cardinal Stritch, where Dereck Semenas is having great success. This could open a spot for Jarvis Williams return, which I'd like.

Jarvis wont be returning. Best of luck to him in the future and a speedy recovery. Hopefully he can be like Russell Wilson / Brandon Wood for somebody next year Rob story

Good luck to Jarvis, wherever he may end up.....One question though. Since he played in 8 games, would he NOT be eligible for a medical hardship? I thought you couldn't play in more than 20% of your regular season games.....

Well this is really confusing. Why couldn't Brian tell Jarvis what his role would be next year? Nobody has taken the SF spot yet. Is Brian that optimistic multiple wing players will make major strides before next year?
Also, why was Jarvis afraid to compete for his spot?
Was this scholarship really promised to Cole Stefan when he transferred here? At that time, it was thought Jarvis would come back and play. They didn't offer Love until it was known Heuer was leaving. I guess it would make sense that Stefan would have been promised a scholarship if healthy. He's too good to pay his own way.
Best of luck to Jarvis. I fear he will be starting for one of our conference foes next year, either YSU or UWM.

Jarvis could walk right into UWM's hands.....They have a LOT more Master's programs than UWGB, and UWM could use his length at the 3 position.....

I'm a little confused how someone can get a Medical Redshirt when they played in eight games (I know it's happened before). So, you can play a third of the games, but it doesn't count because you got hurt?

So, you can play a third of the games, but it doesn't count because you got hurt? Yes, that's now the rule. You can play in no more than 1/3 of your teams games, and the injury needs to keep you out the remainder of the season. Mike Strong, the dominant big man we faced for Virginia, was given a medical RS after he broke his leg in his 10th game last season.

Do the preseason games count? If not, I think he only played in 6 games against D-1 opponents.

Mark Miller is reporting that Jarvis Williams will be transferring to Whitewater (along with Darnell Harris!).

Miller's tweet of Williams to UW-Whitewater has proven erroneous. Williams tweeted yesterday that he will be playing at D2 Minnesota State-Mankato. That makes more sense, as he'll be on scholarship there. Best of luck to him, he still graduates as, and will be, a Phoenix for life.

Not sure if anyone has seen this but NBAdraft.net has Alec Brown going mid first round after next year. This is both good and bad for the phoenix but pretty cool none the less. nbadraft.net/2013mock_draftMaybe Wardle has a hunch that AB won't be around for 2 more years and that's why there is an overload of scholorships to be given out.

If Alec puts on another 15 pounds in the off-season, leads GB to the post-season, and ends up as POY of the HL on 2012-2013, then he's probably gone.....As they say, you can't coach height.

Big Red is really well liked by his teammates and everyone in the program. That said, with Brown and Coogs returning, and the development of Mays, his minutes would be further diminished. I would expect to see Arenz red-shirt, and Big Red to move on to a D-2 program, like Winona St? Or even Point? Your right Hoops, Mark Miller reports that Clayton Heuer's transfer is to UW-Stevens Point. Best of luck to him there, hope he leads them to a D3 title. He should be outstanding in that league.
