This is how the 'Nix really get in to the HL schedule (they play the Chicago schools at home the first couple days of December) Thu, Dec 29.......@butler Sat, Dec 31.......@valparaiso Sat, Jan 07........@milwaukee Thu, Jan 12........vs Detroit I see maybe 1 win there. Thats a pretty tough way to really get into the meat of the conference season. I agree GB will be right around the middle, probably 5, 6, 7. Jimmy I like your shirt idea! Your right about that being a tough stretch for you guys, but I think Both Milwaukee and Green bay come out of the two December games against UIC and Loyola 2-0.

You guys should be fuming that you lost out on J.J. Panoske, since he dropped his verbal to GB Fuming? Nah, we feel lucky. If he hadn't de-committed, we wouldn't have been able to upgrade to Greg Mays. We have a superior player. Panoske couldn't even score a single point in your scrimmage. Mays had a double double in his 1st college game in just 14 minutes of play. Mays is a stunningly explosive athlete, and he relishes playing inside. He has a huge future.

As for GB, I think our fans could be just as excited about guys like Turner and Cerroni as uwm is about Kelm and Richard. Turner isn't as big but was a way better 1st year player than Kelm. Cerroni stunk last year but coming off a big injury he might improve. By all accounts he was as good before his injury as Richard. Its reasonable to assume our guys have improved as well. Plus Cougill has played and contributed in the Big 10 as a freshman, that is a lot more than Big Mete (awesome nickname btw) can say. Just a follow up to this thought. Panoske and Mays are a way better comparison, it will be interesting to see who is better in time. I went to the uwm game against IUPUI. I thought Kelm had a few really nice up and under moves in the post. I think he has way more skills and size therefore potential than Turner. However, I think Turner gets a lot more out of his ability so far. Also, Evan Richard may be one of favorite non GB players. He had an interesting mix to his game. Fun guy to watch. He is currently a better player than Cerroni and has a higher ceiling. I don't know much about panthers hoops but I would have rather watched big mete play than haggerty.

In a season that our Milwaukee friend told us they'd win the conference,, UWM doesn't even make the conference tourney semi-finals. They were embarassed in the quarter-finals last night, losing 71-49. Even worse, their non-seniors managed just 25 points and 13 rebounds. The future doesn't look bright in Milwaukee, especially considering how much better the rest of the league will be next year.
