Here's Rob Demovsky's
game story, which details Terry Johnson's game saving play. It was a play that had me saying to my sons "that's how you play the game. If you mess up, you make up for it. The is no place in the game for moping." Nice job Terry.
-Alec Brown appeared to be ill. He was really out of breath all night, and the team seemed to anticipate that, and substituted him in and out often. He wasn't himself, but still had 3 of the teams 8 huge blocked shots.
-Kiefer Sykes has shot the 3 better recently. He has eliminated the body twist hitch that was in his shot earlier in the season.
-Anton Grady is a stud. The HL is loaded with great young talent. CSU will be down next year because of a complete lack of experience, but they won't be down long.
-Trevon Harman really choked at the end of the game. The shot he took with 10 seconds left was a horrible attempt. He had no chance to make that, and had time to get a real shot.
-KC's steal from Grady after a timeout late was also huge. Great to see the Nix make game changing adjustments at crunch time.
-This game was loaded with highlights. Greg Mays' athletism was on full display.
-It only takes 1 poor ref to have a poorly officiated game. Last night's game featured 2. CSU holds more than a veteran NFL offensive lineman.
-Hats off to Wardle for starting his seniors on senior night. Big game or not, I think it's the right thing to do.
This win gives the Phoenix a chance for a big finish.
