Love that name!!! I remember watching Dean tear it up when I was in high school when my dad would take me to an occasional GB game in the early Bennett Era as the program was beginning to rise. Anyone remember the old AMCU-8 Conference??

Anyone remember the old AMCU-8 Conference?? It would be fun watching Dean's son play in GB as a Phoenix. Dean always played his heart out during a great period in GB sports.

Get buried by the recruiting environment that is "Memphis" or cement a life long legacy in Wisconsin?

Another thing in GB's favor, both his parents are UWGB alums. His mother lived in my dorm back in the late '80s, she was a cool person.

Trev Anderson's commitment to GB should also help. Anderson is on a path to become a coach. He's the prototype of a young man with the bloodline, work ethic and game to build a heck of a future down the road as a coach.

I have no doubt he will contribute but projecting this far down is a bit much.

The "bloodline" really got me. That literally means nothing in tangible terms. Let everything play out is all I want before he is anointed, please

Darner, Tony Bennett, the list goes on of coach's sons and daughters (Kathi Bennett)who take up the family business. Sure it's Trev Anderson's life and it's his to live. That said he sure fits a prototype that has been pretty common in the business -- dad is a coach, son is a gym rat, knows the work ethic needed and builds a career. Am I right? I'm willing to wait 15 years to get an answer on Anderson's future.

As well are the numerous examples of coach's kids who go on to do nothing. I'm not trying to make this ad hominem, I'm just saying that his play on the court will speak for itself. Hopefully I will be proven incorrect.

Even more so now that I hear Memphis is interested. A few years ago Green Bay was recruiting Pat Taphorn's son, whose wife was also a Phoenix athlete. He is now playing for Northwestern. Now I can not blame a serious student for accepting a scholarship to Northwestern, my point is you can not count on the Phoenix connection paying off. (Let's hope it does)
