Joe Mooney is at UC Davis this weekend. I wouldn't be surprised to see a verbal coming out of that.

would be nice to get Joe Mooney also as you always need shooters and we painfully found out last year. Also, everytime he would shoot i could say 'Money' since he rarley misses.

The UC Davis coach is the brother of Mooney's HS coach and he was offered by UC Davis a long time ago. He might commit to them this weekend...
On the other hand Mooney could have committed to UCD months ago and waited for other offers. Linc went to L'ville to see him play in the Under Armor event last weekend and likes him A LOT. I know this because he smiled big when I mentioned Mooney to him. (I spoke to Linc in person on Wednesday night in Lakeland.)
SO -
Remain optimistic that he comes to UWGB. Linc has a lot to offer a player like Mooney. It CAN happen!

UC Davis plays in basically in an all California league with the exception of the University of Hawaii. (not a bad road trip) The team seems to be loaded at the two guard position so that might be a factor. www.verbalcommits.com/schools/uc-davis

As usual nice job. Nice to have you back posting regularly. Your newspaper contacts or just contacts are a plus for this board.

I'm living in Eugene and Otter Rock, Oregon these days but still making pilgrimages back to Wisconsin as often as I can. We have to get Darner to schedule a game with the University of Oregon. My guess is he'll first make scheduling games in Florida a priority as a way to give two recruits from that area a regular chance to visit family.

I sure hope so. Further, games in South Florida - either coast. Any place south of I-4 and I'll be there!

Crap.....We could have used his shooting. Good luck to him at UCD. His connections to Jim Les swayed his decision I'm sure.

C'est la vie.
Coach nepotism and WEATHER. Seriously, can ya blame him?
I wonder if his brother is lurking in the wings as well. Maybe/maybe not. Linc said they would be playing the same position in the same year and he would pass on the brother.
Time to focus on JJ.

I am relieved to be honest. I am sure Mooney will have his moments but having watched Cole Stefan, Kam Cerroni, Brent Eaton, Seth Evans, Ryan Werch and Daniel Munday have varying levels of success getting open, creating shots, making shots or making other basketball contributions I would prefer to take a chance on other players who might not be as good of a shooter but may contribute in other ways.
