Per Ryan James, Green Bay has offered Jeremy Johnson, a 6'3" combo guard from Champlin Park, Minnesota.
Johnson picked up several D1 offers this weekend after a strong performance on the AAU circuit. He's described as a long-armed, feisty, athletic defender and a slasher offensively with a emerging perimeter shot.

There was a lot of talent on Champlin Park's team this past season and despite that Johnson averaged more than 14 points per game. He looks like a skinny young man who needs time to put some muscle on -- not an immediate impact guy. He has lots of potential at the college level down the road. These are the schools that have offered based on his recent performance -- GB, North Dakota State, Denver U, UW-Milwaukee, and Western Illinois.

Behind Cooper, Johnson is my #2 rated must get out of this class. I see a player who could really blossom in the HL. Plus I would love to actually land a HS player from the twin cities. There is no reason the recruiting base shouldn't include the twin cities and stretch down to Indianapolis.

I read on twitter that Kansas State is showing interest in Jeremy.

That kind of thing is dangerous and disappointing for a player. They get a late offer by a school like K State and bite on it. Johnson might want to talk with Jon Harris' nephew, Tre Harris. He was ready to sign with GB a year or two ago when K State made a late offer. Tre is transferring out of the Wildcat program. This time around I suspect he'll end up at Southern Illinois- Edwardsville.

I agree with Tulsa, all too often mid level recruits play well in one weekend in front of a higher coach and then end up committing to a level they can't really contribute at. I am not saying this is the case for JJ but I have watched it several times with Marquette in the past, Roseboro comes to mind without looking. For GB Adrian Schaeffer comes to mind as well.
In the case of Tre Edwards I don't know all of the details but he had a stop at a Prep School in Virginia before K State. Did K State "place" him there? He actually did play for K State this year as a freshman, he struggled more off the court. I think the final straw was that he and a teammate posted a picture on twitter of something they shouldn't have been doing. While I could see him going back to Edwardsville I also think he showed enough as a freshman in the Big 12 that he could land above that level.
As for Malek Harris he has a checkered past. I read he was in trouble during the season. There was a small part of me that was hoping a transfer to GB was in order. He originally committed to MU in high school so he was open to WI, GB's past staff worked IL hard so they might have a connection and he clearly needs a humbling experience. He seemed like a perfect replacement for Jordan Fouse next year.
Anyway as it relates to JJ, if he lands at GB that would be an unreal start to the class. He looks like a guy that Darner can develop. Let's go 4 for 4 on this class with guys that will have GB winning for a long time!

This kid is all over the map in terms of visits, my guess is he turns us down as Green Bay doesn't have that "Wow" factor that some of these other cities like Denver has. Especially with our three guard commitments, I do not see him as as much of a priority as before. I think our time could be better spent looking for a forward or center.

I like Johnson as a prospect. I would guess that adding Scott if possible might make more sense. In two years Findlay and Cooper would be seniors. Small and Scott would be juniors. The Browns will be in their second year. That is more balance as each class has a PG and SG. That also looks like a lot of fire power and athletic ability in a 3 guard rotation.

Good luck, JJ!
