Any big man prospects? I know we have tossed around names like Bryson Scott and Joe Mooney as possible transfers, his brother Chris, and Charles Cooper, but they are all guards. I haven't seen much in the way of any post player prospects since Torres de-committed and is now going to UIC.
I would also think that Fouse and Botz will be playing more of the 4 position in Linc's up-tempo system. It will be interesting what Lowe, Kanter, and Hendo will bring to the table as well. Assuming we don't have any more transfers, we will need another combo forward.

There's a heck of an opportunity for Kanter, Hendo and Lowe with the graduation of McKinnie and Mays. With those graduations and Sykes departure there's a lot of athleticism gone. My guest is Cooper is looked at as a player who can create his own shot, slash and hit the occasional outside shoot. An absolute key to being competitive in the 2015-16 season. In Darner's system that kind of player is a must.
Something missing from last season's team was a dead eye shooter.
Those are the recruiting priorities -- an athletic slasher and marksman.
This is a tough time for recruiting because the pool has been picked over but there could be some hidden gems. Darner needs at least two new players who can contribute immediately. Three would be better. I wouldn't be surprised if he also brings in two transfers. At this point that is probably the only chance to bring in a quality big man. This situation also opens the door for walk-on candidates to earn a scholarship.
All this is predicated on the eight current players staying. They all have a clear shot at playing time. This may be Botz best chance yet to prove he belongs at the D1 level.
With this coaching change the key word for returning players and recruits is "opportunity." It's an opportunity to develop their game with a coach who has won an NCAA title and been recognized as the Coach of the Year. Darner is an accomplished coach not a fast talking newcomer to the head coaching business. He is a teacher.

I don't like seeing Botz/Fouse at the 4. I don't think either is big/strong enough to play there. I think another big is a must.

The only way the Nix pick up a big is via an immediately eligible D1 transfer. That would allow Kanter and Lowe flexibility to play the four/five. Without an addition big recruit Uwadiae will have to develop and stay eligible.

With being a trapping and pressing team. I don't see botz as one of the guards. He'd have to play the four on defense. If he can get his three point shot going he could be an interesting development.
If Hendo gets in foul trouble or doesn't develop. You could see fouse getting time at the four if needed.
I really think of the eight guys on the roster five of them are potentials for the post positions. With that said it's much more important to load up on guards who fit the system. Which explains why we see that focus with the reports of official visits being all guards.

Lake Minneola High School (FL) is about 3 miles from Montverde Academy. Think any of that good hoop stuff rubbed off on the Brothers Brown?

I have to give Linc and Randall credit where it is due. In a very short amount of time they have been in touch with some very interesting prospects for 2015 and beyond. In particular the 2015 guys are looking more athletic than I was expecting this late in the cycle. Right now with the limited amount I know about each I would say grab the Brown brothers, JJ from MN and Cooper. Then use the last scholarship on a big guy as I think they could use somebody 6'9" or bigger.

I don't think anyone makes an official visit without an offer. Fingers cross on Cooper. He looks like he fills a key need.
