Bracketbuster games get announced late tomorrow. The game doesn't mean much to us this year. My main hope is we play someone in our region. Here's a link with possible match-ups.I guess Western Illinois looks like the most logical match-up. I'd rather play a MVC team, but those team are all either great or terrible, nobody is in our range. Eastern or Western Michigan are other possibilities. Does anyone have a preference for this game?

One other match-up I'd like would be Siena. They're in our RPI range and bring a little name recognition. I think they're reloading like us, could be a quality road opponent in 2 years.

How much of a role does geography play? I'm assuming it'll be Western Michigan or Western Illinois. Although we did play at Long Beach a couple years ago, but that was a TV game.

Not really a bad opponent all things considered. They don't have the name brand to get fans excited but then again GB didn't win enough game to deserve that. They don't have a great overall record but are doing well in conference play. They pretty much lost easily to every team that was better than them and won a few close teams to average teams. I think Arkansas Little Rock is their best win. For the return game they will have a Syracuse transfer (who plays now) and a Arkansas transfer available so at least they will have some raw talent for GB to go against next year.
I still like the bracket buster format, it just doesn't do a lot when your team isn't that good. However, in the next two years I expect GB to be playing some pretty solid opponents on national tv!

I think we'll handle EMU pretty easily, which is good. The conference games are more important. The Horizon League continues to be significantly better than the MAC, even in a down year. That's impressive considering MAC schools have a larger budget.
I like the bracketbuster concept, but I continue to ask that the games are moved to monday through wendsday. Playing this game on a Saturday instead of Cleveland St will cost us a1,000-2,000 in attendance.
I agree with gbphoenix1 that I'm looking forward to premier match-ups, national TV, and ESPN coverage the next 2 years.
