The more I learn about Brian, the more impressed I am. I'm sure that UWGB made a great choice. The next 2-? years are going to rock.

Here is a write-up by Andrew Gavin about offseason workouts. These workouts are absolutly key for a team with a good number of athletes with upside. With 8 scholarship returners, plus Stefan and Dimakos, this is the biggest group they've had in offseason workouts in years. Stefan certainly isn't the typical walk-on or newcomer, as he's had a semester with the team and a full season, including 15 mpg, of experience in the A-10 conference. Here's Cerroni on the workouts; "It's nice to be back on the floor with your teammates," said rising junior Kam Cerroni (Sussex, Wis.). "I love every one of them and I love being out there with those guys. We've been stressing 'believe', that everybody has to buy in. If one person doesn't buy in it's not going to work, and I think everybody's buying in to what we're doing."

Former Phoenix guard Jon Anderson is now an assistant coach with the AAU program Green Bay Gunners. The the team includes Ashwaubenon F Bennet Koch, a UNI recruit, and De Pere G Adam Beyer. Beyer might also have D1 potential.

Here's a video on fox11online with Coach Wardle. He discusses our stars, Brown and Sykes, his own coaching development, and the signed incoming recruits, Arenz and Fouse.

That is an interesting video from Wardle. He talked about improving as a coach. I wish they could afford a little more salary on the staff side of things. I like the recruiting of this staff but if they could afford to have a veteran guy as an operations guy that would go a long way towards the development of Wardle as a coach and of the players on the team. That old veteran coach is the one thing I think they are missing.
Looking at the recruits I am not sure what to make of Arenz. He could just as easily be Heuer part 2 as he could be Cougill part 2. He is absolutely a guy that I think needs to red shirt as I just don't see minutes for him next year.
Fouse is a guy that I can't wait to see in a GB uniform. His length and skill are going to be a good combo for GB and a good compliment to the guys they already have on the team.

Great that Turner is doing well. I saw him at the kids clinic that they held on Sunday, you couldn't even tell he had an injury. Thanks to all the players and coaches for being so great with the kids. My sons had a blast.
Did anyone here attend the steak fry last night? Wardle's top 10 he does each year is always entertaining. I wonder what it was about this year?

New Rule Puts Phoenix Back in the Gym Complete with video. Get your first look at the lean and talented Alphonso McKinnie. I like the rule, why not let coaches have offseason contact?Perfect year for this to start, when we have so many young, talented returners.

Well I don't think they're going to make the decision based on Green Bay's roster, but I also hope that coaches get summer contact.

Agreed, I think it's great for college basketball. It allows teams to better develop talent, which might keep more players from turning pro prematurely. The longer length of the college offseason combined with now available coaching contact makes college a very attractive option for players still in there developmental stages.
