Does anyone know who the Nix will face in a closed door scrimmage this year?

Per Twitter of @robdemovsky, the Phoenix face IPFW today in a closed door scrimmage. Does Rob even bother with coverage in the paper anymore? It feels like they haven't received a lot of press in the GBPG in the form of articles or the blog.

I was hoping we might see some coverage in the press this week with the Packers having a bye.

I was hoping we might see some coverage in the press this week with the Packers having a bye. Exactly. I thought they were holding it until today to fill space on the Sunday edition, but nothing. Incredibly lame. Rob was at practice this week, but didn't even bother with a blog post. I understand how busy he is during Packers season, but it's the bye week. I guess he took a bye too. Doesn't the PG have any other writers? I never bought into the conspiracy theory of Demovsky being in Kowalczyk's pocket, but now I'm starting to. It just seems like RD has given Coach Wardle the cold shoulder ever since he's gotten the job. Does anyone else see that? In the Kowalczyk era we would have already had multiple hype pieces already from RD.

Of course it could be the other way around, it could Coach Wardle limiting RD a little bit. Never once did RD promote Coach Wardle as the guy when they were interviewing, maybe those two aren't close.

If the issue is RD not promoting the program like he did under TK, then the GB Press Gazette should assign another writer to cover UWGB basketball. Both the men's and women's programs could have someone who is passionate about UWGB basketball, without compromising journalistic integrity and not sound like too much of a homer.....
However, if it's an issue of BW keeping RD at arms length, then that's a question only BW can answer. I know some of us on the old message board have cracked on TK (myself included) for using RD to hype the program in the past only to fall short of expectations. Maybe this is one of the things that BW has learned from TK on NOT what to do.

The Phoenix game @ Virginia has been added to the ESPNU schedule. 6:00 CST, November 25th. Very cool.
If the NBA lockout continues, hopefully our games versus Wisconsin and Marquette are picked up by an ESPN network too.

www.greenbayphoenix.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=22500&ATCLID=205326353The Phoenix announce a very exciting TV schedule with TWS 32, including 3 conference road games. They also announce Matt Menzi as the full-time radio voice of the Nix. I liked both him and Chris Roth doing the games, but I think the program needed an identity. Cool to here Cordero Barkly will be doing color for the home games. He remains very close to the program, and is just a great guy. I like that Roth is staying involved with the program as the TV play-by-play man. Jeff Norgard will be the color man for home games, another exciting addition. While I attend all the home games, it's cool to come home and watch them again after a big win. If I forget to DVR it, it's still available later with the On-Demand feature. What's great is the increased road games. It will be awesome watching the Nix clinch the conference championship on TV at UIC to close the regular season! I'm joking, not until next year. The only negative is not everyone has TWC. Those with dish will get the game at Detroit on FS Detroit, and I just know one of them will invite me over to watch that game.
