Phoenix need to protect the home court versus Detroit tonight. Detroit looked dead until they handled Butler last weekend. Might be another close one, but I still see a victory. Here's preview's by Wes Hodkiewicz, Brian Dickman, and Andrew Gavin.

Vegas has us as a 1 point favorite. Hopefully the snow doesnt keep too many people away tonight, should be a fantastic game.

Rob Demovsky's recapbox scoreJust as Rob writes, Sykes sat too long with foul trouble, and it killed the offense down the stretch. Berlin's Toby Hegner attended this game. Great to see he is still interested in Green Bay. He holds a bunch of other offers, including Marquette, Northwestern, and Iowa St. He has stated in the past he prefers a smaller campus. I've seen him play in person, I love his game. He'd be a perfect addition to the Phoenix family.

It was an entertaining game until last 5 minutes. After talking with other's we came to the same conclusion. It seems like they get tight and the plays or tempo change in the last 3-4 minutes? High points= they played hard and never gave up. Sykes if he isn't already will be a star. Lowpoints= Detroit got way to many 3 and 4 offensive boards. The ref's also let Detroit get away with way to many moving screens that they scored off of. I'm also going single out one player that has to get better at passing. "Cougill" this is the second, third or more games he's had 4+ turnovers, with many of them unforced. I'm not a stat guy ,but would love to see how many he's had. I still think we're a very talented team and losing Sykes for 6 minutes really hurt. I also think Johnson probably had one of his best games. Alec was his usual self, steady and hard nosed play. I think if they keep improving they'll be a force in the tournment. I can also see them winning it if they really want it. When Detroit plays the way they did tonight I can see why they were picked for 2nd place.

We lose another close one.....Can we win a game already? I know we're down 2 players right now due to injury, but there seems to be a new issue that creeps up every time we're in the last 5 minutes of a game.....If we don't get this late-game 'tightness' solved soon, we will be droping past UIC and Loyola at the bottom of the HL standings.
