Another tough match-up, but no tougher than a few of the games GB already played. This will be the most practice time the Nix have had for a game all year. If they continue to defend and bang the offensive glass this will be a very competitive game. Be sure to check out the preview at phearthephoenix.webs.comI love that this is on TV. I don't get to see Tony Bennett coach as much as I'd like. Terrific work by Coach Wardle for getting this series started. He seems very in touch with what GB fans want. This would be a great time for the team to play their best ball and pull an upset. It would bring a lot of positive vibes to the program.

Phoenix didn't play as well as I hoped. Hopefully we find out as the season progresses that Virginia is really good. Not many positives here, but I thought Terry Johnson played well. He needs more minutes, and not at the expense of Kiefer Sykes. Johnson played 5 minutes at the SG, that needs to increase to at least 15. Johnson should play 30 minutes a game. Cerroni hasn't earned the right to stay in the rotation, he just doesn't make shots, and all of his value is tied to his shooting. box score

What a terrible start for GB against UVA. They made a nice comeback but UVA was way too good for GB. They were well schooled and fairly athletic.
Terry Johnson was impressive getting in the lane in the first half. I thought Sykes did a nice job of that in the second half. I would like to see those guys attack the rim more often.
Looks like Virginia is pretty good, they just defeated Michigan tonight.
