I wrote a little preview of this game over on the fan site. I think its a game GB can win. They need to cut down on turnovers, 19 is way way too many, even for an inexperienced team. Also, this game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Wisconsin. Thank you NBA lockout NDSU Message Board

The Bison are coached by former UW assistant Saul Phillips and have Will Ryan, son of Bo Ryan on staff. They are very young this year and should be an interesting game.
There are a couple of local kids on their roster:
Chris Kading a 6'8" freshmen from De Pere and Nate Zastrow, a JR Pg from Manitowoc. For those of you who followed De Pere's run to state last year will remember Joel Lindberg a 6'2" guard from Superior who played De Pere over at Stevens Point.
Brett Vandenbergh a 6'6' 2011 from De Pere recently signed his letter of intent and will play for the Bison next year.

The D1 schools in the Dakotas have made a point of recruiting WI high school kids. I am curious to see if these guys can play. I know a lot of GB fans have felt that GB doesn't bring in enough local talent.
I'm very excited this game is on FSN, that saves me a lot of trouble to see the game. Now I can DVR it and watch when I get home.
Great preview of the game. NDSU has a great record but against weak teams. I hoping that GB will be too athletic for them but they never have an easy time against NDSU.

Very cool that the Phoenix is on TV in place of the Bucks. Should be a good match-up. NDSU has a couple wins over poor team, but the win @ San Francisco was impressive. That team returns 5 starters from a unit that finished 4th in a solid WCC.
NDSU is playing better than expected, fueled by freshman PG Lawrence Alexander, who played at the new prep school program at St. Johns Northwest Military Academy in Milwaukee last year. NDSU is a good offensive team that can spread the floor with lots of shooters, but they lack defensive size and quickness. The Phoenix need to continue their dominance on the glass and score in the paint to win this one. Should be a high scoring game.

Andrew Gavin said on the pregame show that Alec Brown and Daniel Turner were both held out of this morning's shoot around after suffering minor injuries in practice yesterday. Alec Brown suffered an ankle injury while Turner hurt his knee. Both were still in the starting line-up however

Lost the turnover battle 18-8 and only shot 5-21 from three. Same old story, ugh. Sykes looks real good on D but definitely has his issues running the point on offense. Would've like to see some more of Terry Johnson at the point. Terrible game by Jarvis Williams.

We needed this game with all of the games on the road for the nest few weeks.....We blew an opportunity to get a win.
We seem to have defensive issues (again). Is BW having his perimeter players overplay the passing lanes again?

This team really needs a three point threat. Baker had a good game, perhaps he needs to shoot more. North Dakota State played tough defense, especially down low. They obviously need to limit the turnovers and improve their three point shooting.

Terrific defensive effort by the Phoenix. They held NDSU to 37% shootiing on their home floor, NDSU came in shooting 52% through 3 games. Offensively, lots of work to do. It's one thing to turn it over 19 times against Duquesne's press, but 18 turnovers can't happen against this low pressure Bison defense. Turnovers are common for a young team like this, but they still need to grow up fast. The 3 point shooting could be much better if they didn't attept so many bad looks. They shot 21 3s last night, while NDSU only took 12. The Nix need to be more patient in half court sets, and need to get to the rim more. I'm surprised they haven't used Terry Johnson at 2G since the exhibition game. They need his scoring ability on the floor. Cerroni got 10 minutes last night, but can't keep up defensively. Here's the Press-Gazette recap

All I took away from the game is that we shot 21 three pointers, when we are not a three point shooting team, it started driving me nuts towards the end of the game. This team needs to work harder for the mid range game.

GB shooting just 26.5% from three this season, thats 262nd in the country and 9th in the Horizon. Also the -2.7 turnover differencial isnt helping either I crunched some numbers over on the fan site, probably too early to look at stats but I was bored

NDSU had some players that were way more athletic than I was expecting. Plus their freshman PG (granted he did have a year of prep school) was way more game ready than Sykes.
The GB offense is tough to watch, not a lot of shooting talent. I know I am not adding anything knew when I write that GB beat themselves more than NDSU beat them.
