Decided to make the drive from Milwaukee to scenic Valparaiso and my only request was that they don’t get blown out. Thankfully they honored that request, and even though they didn’t play their best game, they were in it til the end. Valpo just hit a couple big threes when it mattered. And I know Valpo isn’t very good, but the fact GB is at least competitive on the road against other mid major teams is a positive sign. Last year’s squad would’ve been out of it by halftime.

If anything last night proves Noah Reynolds has the potential to keep us in just about every game this year.
The emergence of Elijah Jones is fantastic, his confidence right now is through the roof.
Preston will only start to feel more comfortable as the year goes on, don’t forget last night was his first live action of the year. I honestly was surprised he saw that many minutes.
Marcus Hall again was a dominant night on the glass with 7 boards.

Turn off the green light for Reynolds. Also, this was the sloppiest game I’ve ever seen, dribbling looked hard. Hard to matchup to the physicality of Valpo and it made our guys look minuscule. On the plus side, they had some fire and it was interesting to watch, for a change. Are you saying overall or 3's only for Noah? He hasn't been good from deep but from 2's at the rim he has been good. He was 11-20 on 2's last night. If he stops driving to score, GB will have virtually no offense.

Valpo made some late 3's and GB didn't. That really broke the momentum GB had. A few guys definitely seemed hesitant to shoot for the Phoenix.
In a game with a lot of missed 3's GB held their own on the glass. That was a welcome change.
Valpo not only blocked a lot of shots but the deflections were a lot to overcome. GB had maybe 3 guys play that could match up athletically. Yet they found a way to be in the game. I'm optimistic that wins are in the near future.

Noah's going to be very good but he's not really all that efficient right now.

IMO, there is a noticeable improvement in our overall offensive flow and movement. I don't see anything that resembles last year zombie style, perimeter-only ball movement. That is a nice feeling and makes watching the game much more enjoyable. Elijah Jones - 15 rebounds, don't know when the last time we had that kind of stat!! The 2 of 18 from 3 point arc and sub 50% FT shooting though, yikes, that's something we saw enough of the last couple years. Size-wise, I wish we had a guy like that Jerome Palm - a nice solid 6'10" - but we don't. I can live with the loss, but as mentioned previously by someone, if we can see incremental improvement as we move forward, that will be great.
