Going into the year with so many new faces, we don't have too much to go off of in terms of what the starters might look like this season and how the rotation will play out. I can confidently say that Manny and Steiber will start but outside of that its essentially a guessing game. My guess would be Blayton and Kellogg will be in there to start the year but I also have no idea on some of the new guys and if they will make an instant impact. Would be interested to here how you guys think the rotation will play out this year.

It’s easy to agree with that mitch, tutu, donovan ivory are experienced guys who could start eventually donovan was said to of applied to a waiver. But was never known if it has been accepted I’m hoping it did because he could make an immediate impact if not then have to wait a year to see what he can do.

Lucas Blayton Listau Ansong JK
That’s the starting five I think we see.
Future is bright that’s for damn sure. A lot more brighter than 3/4 of the horizon league.

I think the starting lineup will be fluid, but Kamari will be part of it

I am interested to see the lineup against SNC. While this team may not have the star power it does appear to have depth.
I could make a good case for 9 guys to be starters and 13 guys to be in the rotation. The difference between guys who will play and guys who won't is razor thin.
With little drop off down the roster that might be another way this team surprises people. As opponents begin to sub GB might be able to make runs against their less talented bench. There are several teams in the league that have depth issues.

I would expect the starting lineup to change a lot like you guys said. One thing of note from last year was the younger guys started to play more and more and crack the starting lineup as the season went on. I could see it having mostly returning guys to start the year and then start to feature freshman and more of the transfers as the year goes on.

After seeing the practice a few Saturdays ago and going to the exhibition game on Friday, it looks like things may start to be taking shape a bit for the starters and rotation. Coach Ryan may not truly have his starting 5 and based on matchups it could be a game to game situation. Im just a fan and obviously no expert, but it's still fun to talk about
Locks for majority of starts 5, 1, 23 and 3 Stieber appears to be the floor general. If he has some improvement on his mid range to 3 point shot, he could be a handful for anyone to deal with on both ends of the floor.
Ansong just outworks everyone he faces and is relentless on both ends, it looks like a repeat of what he did last year and seems ready to go
Japannah seems to have a quiet confidence and looks to be pretty comfortable in year 2 understanding the system. His shot comes off a little flat still but seems to get nice rotation on the ball from the stripe and mid range. Just looking for consistency.
Mitch didn't practice a few Saturdays ago so wasn't sure what to expect on Friday but he got the start and by the 2nd half I understood why. First 3 pointer attempted came up about a foot short so I was thinking ok, not what I expected. He sort of glides on the court on defense and is relaxed while on the court, never too excited. From what I read and saw, he can really shoot. Once he got comfortable in the 2nd half, his offense came alive. Has a free and easy release and hit 3 in a row down the stretch. If he is on, I can see him being very dangerous. The way he shoots sort of reminds me a bit of Chris Mullen. Just let's it go with minimal effort.
Secondary Staters/Rotation 2, 4, 11 and 15 I think the other starter is somewhere in this group and could change based on matchup. Kamari and Cade do not look like typical freshman. They look like upper classman physically and both have a strong presence on the court. They will get plenty of mins one way or another it appears. Blayton could be another guard starter, more athletic then Mitch and seems to move really well to create space. Donovan just seems to do a little of everything and plays with alot of confidence. At practice he is hitting 3's, driving and pulling up with confidence and grabbing rebounds giving high effort. He baited a kid from ST Norbert to drive and try to go glass on a layup and it looked like he purposely slowed down to allow the kid to get the shot off and then slapped it off the backboard. Has looked really good IMO so far.
Secondary rotation guys 12, 13, and 21 I think any of these guys could start but probably depends on how much size is needed in the lineup. Would like to see both Cem and Ryan play with a bit more edge, they seem at times hesitant. Tutu is built like a traditional big man, long arms and can rebound. If a team is more guard heavy, could see him not playing as much. Almost like a Manny situation with Darner sort of thing.
Jury is still out 0, 14, 22 and 55 I am not sure what to make yet for this group. Donavan didn't play much on Friday but when he is in, you can see his length on the court. Randy was in the rotation in and out throughout the game, I just haven't seen enough to make a an assessment at this point. Nate seems to have a good handle with things but not sure how many mins he gets at the end if the day. You can see the talent with Brayden and got into the game towards the end, but not sure if he's ready physically. Maybe a Redshirt candidate?
I really like what I have observed so far with these guys, gonna take some time to gel but I think we are flying under the radar a bit which is nice. I'm excited for the season to tip off

That is really interesting obviously i think Donovan Ivory got a waiver because the only transfer games who can play were when Cody Schwartz played in Puerto Rico and couldn’t play that season. I really hope he can play because I’m guessing offensively and defensively he play guard/ big which will be huge whenever he can play this season or next season.

Ivory is immediately eligible. Where did you see that? Scott Venci reported it on Twitter, attributing the information to Coach Ryan. He looked really good in the exhibition. I'm telling you, don't sleep on the new guys. There will be some struggles as the acclimate to the system, and game, but they are going to make a bigger impact than people are giving them credit for right now.
