Here we go!
IPFW loves to shoot the three ball and turns the ball over a ton!
Gotta close out on all three point shooters and make them earn it!

If I did the numbers right GB is 5-2 when they out rebound an opponent in league play. GB is 2-9 when they get out rebounded in league play. GB is 1-1 when the rebounding is tied in league play.
I may be putting too much into one stat but it seems to me that winning the rebounding battle is the key to the game.
GB out rebounded WSU and CSU in losses. GB beat Oakland and IUPUI when getting out rebounded. GB lost to UWM and beat NKU when they tied the rebounding.
PFW was one of the teams GB beat twice and out rebounded both times. Paging TT, Japannah, Manny and any other GB players that want to get after the glass tonight!

That was a tough loss. I still don't have the words to describe it.
This game showed off a major issue for GB, a lack of depth. The starters played well but once GB had to play it's bench things came unglued. The rebounding and defensive intensity were not there as the starters came out.
Rebounding overall was 38-38.
If I see another Horton or Billups flip from the hip rainbow 3 again in my life it will be too soon.

That’s a problem in which I know the staff knows too.

Not having JJ last night really made it tough from an outside shooting perspective.
Some of the other guys have a good looking stroke, they need to perfect it and gain confidence in it. Some of the guys are a work in progress with it. Either way some guys who can bury outside shots would really open things for GB.

So WHY no Josh Jefferson last night? He could have been the difference. It seemed like Fort Wayne just got way too many baskets from within a 5 foot perimeter of the basket. Their cutting and screening gave them a ton of close range lay-ins. We led most of the game, but just couldn't get put them away permanently. The game-tying 3 point shot was absurd - I sort of felt like that was something we were going to have trouble bouncing back from. Would it be out of line to expect both Kellogg AND Thompson to be in the game at the same time?
