Why do we keep failing on guarding the three point line? Why do we keep relying on the other team to miss on three point shots? Linc has said this himself. So frustrating

Why do we keep failing on guarding the three point line? Why do we keep relying on the other team to miss on three point shots? Linc has said this himself. So frustrating It’s unacceptable to blame the coaching remember? If a coaches best answer is hope they miss that’s when it’s time to go. This is pathetic. Why not press the whole game then? You’d at least give up less points with layups.

This is completely unacceptable, glad we gave this guy an extension to finish 4th in the conference.

RP40 (only if we are down by 40) is getting rough. Colgate is a very good mid major team, but we were never in it. I always would critique Wardle and his in game management, etc... but with Linc it’s fundamentals that make us look bad. Guys are always out of position on D, for starters. Couple that with keeping the wrong guys out there, and it’s a disaster. Josh has had a really poor two games, due to tons of mental errors, yet, he’s out there all the time. Things like that baffle me. I still respect Linc far more than I’ll ever respect Wardle, but something has to change.
For positives, Amari is an all conference player, and Cody is playing with some swagger now, I like that.

Giving up 99 on your home court which should put your tail on the hot seat. I hope you’re watching Mr. Guthrie.

You’d think he would take notice. It took far too long for Wardle to get the axe though, so I wonder if Guthrie has as much patience.

Wardle didn’t get the axe, he left GB for Bradley. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

All darner made were excuses after the game instead of Putting the blame on himself. “We had no rest they did” “we’ve never seen the Princeton offense before” “we don’t have a 7-1 guy to play a zone”. What a joke this guy is.

After Linc took his first team with BW's players to the NCAA's, this program has been in a general malaise.
We get a bunch of long-armed, mid-sized players, who seem to have some athletic ability, but little in the way of fundamentals, but GB does not have the coaching staff in place to develop that talent and skills. If we had a couple of Woody Wilsons on staff, maybe we would have better shooting at least......as far as defense........
I don't know how much zone we play, but we more have a makeup of a poor-man's Syracuse, to where we can at least using those long arms in a 2-3 zone, since the RP40 method does not work since the man to man defensive fundamentals are not there, and probably never were. RP40 is just a bad punchline. The only relentless pressure is in my forehead when I see this team play.
If there is another losing season, I see Linc being gone......How much $$ is left on Linc's contract? Maybe it's time to hire Gary Grezsk and bring Eric Jackson as Asst HC.

What a joke this guy is. Stating FACTS is not excuses... Grow up. No one likes to loose and yes it seems we either win by 10 or loose by 20 and that's frustrating but watch the game instead or posting quotes out of context... Also, Colgate move the ball well and shared it as we were on our heals recovering but at the same time, guys had to make the shots and they did... On to the NEXT... We need more than 2 guys committed too defense and if you cared about defense, you would be talking more about them than just about the guys who put up all the shots but is shooting a poor percentage...

Saying Wardle was going to get fired is revisionist history at best. He brought in guys without a lot of offers and coached them up. His formula was simple. If you play hard, want to win desperately and live in the gym he would coach you up. He was under zero pressure from the athletic department and that isn’t to say he was well liked but they knew he was doing a solid job in GB. He took over a pile of junk at Bradley and has worked it into a pretty good spot. He is on the cusp of getting a major promotion. People should stop acting like he sucked, he didn’t.
As for this game there isn’t much to say. They were beat in every phase. Colgate like Wisconsin was well schooled and made the right pass every time. CSun went nuts from deep but mostly off the dribble. Colgate’s shooters were in the shooting position and just had to fire. Essentially CSun got hot, Colgate was just flat out better and smarter than GB. One thing that I don’t understand is the rebounding. GB was down 10 at the half and neither center played. Manny grabbed 5 boards in 9 second half minutes. Even if he couldn’t guard them why not play him more? Nobody else could guard them either, it wasn’t like everything else was working and playing Manny put GB at a disadvantage.
A positive to take away was Tre getting some better minutes. That is something he can build on.
The last thing I want to discuss is the Kress Center itself. The people around the program seem to like playing there. It is a little louder and probably better in the bank account for the program. Yet the community of GB doesn’t like going there. This program should be upset that these two games only drew 1436 and 1342 fans. The other D1 games at the Kress that were not part of Krash the Kress drew 1469, 1341, 1822 and 2269 last year. With very few exceptions more people show up at the Resch for D1 games. It is closer to where the people are, easier to go out before/after the game and easier to navigate to from a parking perspective. Most people spend time in and around Lambeau, they know the drill. How many people go on UWGB’s campus for anything else? But hey keep making the program a niche entertainment option for the few instead of making it NE Wisconsin’s D1 program. They got tripped up on the court and in how they operate. Another example, I loved the post-game interview and highlight package from last night, oh wait there wasn’t one. The program is not home again for 2.5 weeks. I’m beyond curious what they will do to stay relevant given that some people seem content to keep the program hidden on campus and out of most forms of media.

Also, Linc isn't getting fired anytime soon. He is owed 230k/yr for 6 more years. Play the Power Ball if you want him fired.
I loathe the thought of Gary G. and others from that era coming to GB. As a program we have to move on. For where GB sits in the D1 pecking order right now it would likely be a case of getting smarter but less talented and athletic players. We would be on here complaining about how nobody can create a shot when the defense takes everything away.
Plus don't be so sure Gary wasn't offered the job the last time, he might not want it for all we know.

Gary has done one hell of a job at SNC, but I know a lot of former players of his and they very much dislike him as a person. He also struggles to ever win the big games. His ceiling here would be Tod K.
