Now I understand some of these are out of reach but four of these players went to other mid majors. Linc has been VERY disappointing in recruiting the state.

I don't know the answer. Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin, Trevor Anderson had a cup of coffee and a pennant burning in GB prior to leaving campus. He was so proud of his actions he posted it on social media. My guess is if Gard or Grzesk were hired you would have seen more Wisconsin prep players but I'm not sure the results would have been any better.

I do not think that the style of play helps. I also think that more and more in state kids get offer by GB early and end up at places like Wright State, Belmont, Ohio, Northern Kentucky ect. I think Green Bay is tough place to recruit an in-state kid who isn't from inner city Milwaukee. Campus life is meh, outside of the main part of the city of Green Bay. Would a Wisconsin Badger 2.0 model work in the Upper Midwest if Gard or Grzesk would have been hired? We will probably never know.
I am a huge Phoenix fan but realistic. GB wasn't a school I seriously looked at (not a D1 basketball player either). Linc has sprinkled in some local talent but besides Sandy falling in his lap, has built around JUCO recruits and out of state players.

I do wonder what the obsession over getting in state recruits is? Winning is what puts fans in the seats, not local kids, not enough to make a noticeable difference, anyway.

Having a consistent winner will bring in more local talent, but with UW being a top tier Big Ten program and MU as a Big East contender most years, we won't see high end WI HS talent coming to GB.....But then again, if we lose local kids to non-UWM conference rivals like NKU, then there is something with the recruiting pitch being made.

I could go on a tangent but I will spare you from having to read it! Once you move past the kids who go to bigger programs GB has only missed on a few kids who could play their style. Some of the mid major high school recruits in WI aren't going to be super successful in GB's half court offense without enough athletic ability to create a shot for themselves. I don't mind the high school kids they have brought in under Linc. The Brown's didn't pan out. Some don't like Hunter but pretty much everyone else can ball. My only gripe is that they don't get more high school kids regardless of where they come from.
